Puppy on kill list for tomorrow
 
any one in the AZ area have any information on which shelters in the entire valley take in animals- FOR NO KILL? I know there are plenty of adult dogs that don't deserve this any more than this baby does. He's smiling and it caught at my heart. I'm hoping that someone has some information. I cannot take him. My little gal is used to all of my attention, and taking in a guy like this one would require more attention than I have myself. I, however, will drive my butt out there to pick him up and move him to another shelter. Thank you.

Where are you seeing this, could you send a link? I'm shocked they would kill a puppy. I'll forward this to Ann, she works with shelters here in AZ, maybe she can help.

I can pledge 20 dollars if that helps Ann. I think some more money is getting collected. I'll look for the guy on the site right now. there are so many animals it's pretty overwhelming, and heart breaking as well.

I found him. The fee I am hearing for an e-list is 20 dollars. I can give that; and I see why he hasn't been adopted. Possible abuse due to what I read, and hair loss and a few other issues. Here:

They are right now. He's a guaranteed pull because a family called yesterday right before his scheduled euthanasia and didn't come yet. Someone is going down there as we speak and waiting until 5pm. She has other dogs, and I will PM her immediately and tell her what you said. Due to the evidence he's been aggressive towards other animals, I'm not sure how this will work out. I'm hoping it was just terror, though. What information would you like me to give her, Ann?

Wow just looked at the current list of little dogs scheduled for euth tomorow. How sad:( makes me sick. All those little terriers and chihuahuas. Of course they are scared and not being friendly! Wish i lived closed!!

I live in Jersey but might be able to take a small dog or donate to help stop them from euthanasia.

Don't know if this helps....in Jersey there is a no kill shelter called home for good dog shelter. ...they get a lot of larger dogs a might love some smaller dogs...they do a great job on placing dogs.

So what happened w/ this kiddo, anyone know...?

Here in Phoenix, AZ - we euthanize about 60,000 pets annually. So, sadly, I'm not at all surprised at what/who we see on the "E List" :(.

I had no idea. I new it was a large number, this makes me so sad, I really wish there was something more we could do. I think it's so important to recommend that people either adopt or get a dog from a breeder who is trying to improve the breed, this is someone who will always take back the dog.

It's so heartbreaking :(. BUT, there is good news too...through the Fix.Adopt.Save initiative, Maricopa County's euthanasia rates have supposedly decreased by approx 71% -- AMAZING. So hopefully, we'll be able to quote different numbers in terms of # euthanized annually...

I couldn't look. I just can't. It makes me so sad. Arpaio did good at one time by opening a prison to displaced katrina pets. I think we need todo that for those little guys, too.

That's amazing, Ann!!! I don't do well in the summers from the heat, but I do want to help out this coming fall and winter.

He is!!!! He was adopted that day by a wonderful girl with two kids and she's a single parent. with other dogs as well.
