avatars!!!!!!!!! Will someone that knows how to make them please send me directions. I have just about every photo program out there and will buy a program if I need to. I just want to be able to make my own. Thanks so much!! :thumbs up :yorkiesar |
Hey Michelle - What I Did to learn 3 years ago was sit and SEARCH the net - I would type in key words using the program in my search - Like I have Photoshop Elements 2....so my search would be 'Photoshop Elements 2.0 ANIMATION HELP' ......or 'PS 2.0 Animation Tutorial' - then I would read and see if I could follow the various help sites I found. It's a matter of finding what YOU can understand - If you use Image Ready ...You would specify THAT program in your search and include Animation help - The main thing about Avatars is FIRST ....you have to crop and edit the pictures and size them properly to the size you are able to upload...that's the step that takes the longest.... I have a FREE Full Version ULEAD Gif Animation Program I can send you to start you off if you want - that's the program I learned the basics from. But you still need to learn cropping and editing to make the pictures display to their best.... |
lol...I forgot to ask you - what animation programs DO you have ? |
I have Animation shop 3 Paint shop pro 7, Adobe photoshop 7, corel painter 9, Ulead photo express 6, Image Mixer Vcd2, photo impression 5,phot brush, real draw pro and more. I know how to edit and crop and adjust and add text all that stuff, I just don't know how to make the avatars that have the pictures animated avatars that show lots of different pictures on the avatar. |
LOL you DO have alot of programs ! Here are a couple of links I saved but didn't use myself - All I have is the image ready one I used. Here it is: http://www.wetcanvas.com/Articles2/5712/567/ THIS one will show you the tools used to move your pictures on top of each other - http://www.retouchbypam.com/vision/l...aceAvsPSP2.htm The idea of animating is based on layers - you open ALL your pictures in your program and use the move tool to set each one on top of each other - The TOOL function is different in each program so you have to find which tool will MOVE a picture - and you set it on top of your background picture - keep doing this till ALL the pictures are one. When you DO get a group of pictures layered - always remember - Set your animation times and always also SAVE FOR WEB - or SAVE OPTIMIZED when you go to save your gif animation.... Once you decide what program you want to use to learn - I still advise going on the net and doing searches for a good tutorial you can follow - some are hard - some are easy :) |
thank you so much sweetie!!! wooo hoooo |
GOOD TUTS for Image ready http://www.insidegraphics.com/image_ready/default.asp and this - GO HERE FIRST ....this may be the easiest http://www3.sympatico.ca/mikenowo/po...ady/index.html |
This is the program that helped me get started. http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...inkie_as.shtml I use ImageReady CS by the way. And Photoshop CS but mostly ImageReady, of course. Once you get a good handle on the layers and frames for the animation and timing, etc.....I can help you with putting fun text on there. It's not hard it is just tedious (for the lack of a better word). Fun and worth it, though! Seriously it's hard to give directions for this stuff over the net but if I can answer any of your questions or help in any way just let me know! :) |

Ok, the text is EEEEEASSSYY trust me. First start by starting a new file. Click File, click New. Ok, then make it have a "transparent" back and make it like 125x125 or whatever you prefer. Click the "T" in the lefthand control panel and then click on your blank new file. Type whatever you want it to say. For example "Chanel". When you're done, go to the Layers window and right click on the text layer that says "Chanel" and choose "Layer Style" and then "Blending Options". There is a myriad of things you can do to your text but I have my favorites such as "Bevel and Emboss" or "Outer Glow" or Stroke, down at the bottom, I love. On the "Stroke" menu, you can make it thick or thin and also you can choose whether you want a single color line around your text, or you want that line INSIDE your text or in the center (I like it on the outside usually) and you can also choose a gradient, down at the bottom of the stroke menu so that the line around the text will be varied in color. Pretty neat, I think! Ok play with that a while and get back to me and we'll go from there! Villette, this is your homework! Michelle, you too girl! :p |
YES !!!!!!!! THANK YOU and I know how to do all that - I was doing it differently and the text showed up on ALL my pics instead of inbetween - but I'm going to try this ASAP ! Thanks so much Val ! You rock girl :) |

Hmmmm - I tried it on an already finished Avatar - do you mean start fresh and do the text FIRST before compiling the pics to animate ? |
