barneysmommmy | 10-31-2015 05:25 PM | totally true Halloween story So, I got a new Garmin 220 watch to celebrate training for my next half marathon. It's a very cool watch that maps your miles, the weather, pace, cadence, foot stride....pretty much everything. I went for a 6 miler this evening and came home and plugged my watch into my computer to log my data.
Tonight's run showed up with all the correct stuff. But....so did a run from last night that started about half an hour after I went to bed. At first I thought it was from the park that I run at, so maybe a duplicate run. But when I zoomed the map out, it was really at my house. It lasted 9 hours.
The map shows that my watch was literally running all around my house....it ran 3.1 miles over a 9 hour period. There was no cadence recorded (no footfall at all), but you can watch a video that shows the path of the run and it shows it going all over the house in circles for the entire night.
I've been googling trying to see if this glitch has happened to anyone else, but I can't find anything. It's a little freaky. I checked the watch twice this evening to make sure the GPS is locked. The only way to turn it on is to click it twice. So, if it runs around again tonight, I guess I need an exorcism for a health conscious ghost. |
