Yes lol! I have almost all the inside done, Halloween on the outside Christmas inside, trick-a-treaters always are shocked when I open my door haha! But I do this for a living commercial and residential, interior and exterior, so if I don't get mine done early it will not get done. I have been a holiday decor designer for over 20 years now, wow I'm getting old...I used to do the floral end of weddings as well, but no longer...weddings will wear you down and can be quite frustrating, I paid my dues on those. I do have a couple of designer friends that if they get in a pinch I will help but it better be emergency;). Anywho I love Christmas, I love what I do, and I love that I have an excuse to decorate early lol! :D |
my cleaning lady is here today and LOL I just talked to her about dates right before Thanksgiving so she can help me. I sort of transform my house so it is quite a chore and I don't like doing all the decorating myself any longer. I took photos a few years ago to use as a blueprint and that worked out great when I got help. Cindy I would love to see pictures, it would be fun to see how a professional does it up, do you change it around each year or keep it the same |
It is hard work and it does get monotnous when doing it by yourself. I'm like you, I like to transform my house, every room has a touch of Christmas in it. I Personally put up 7 trees, and it takes awhile for me to get it all completed. I usually keep things kinda the same in my house, I do add to every year, but sometimes I take away too if something is not looking as good as it did or if I'm tired of it. All my trees have themes, I pretty much keep the theme, but I will change out ribbons, add different lights, etc. Most of the home owners I decorate for keep it the same, we do tie new bows if exterior ones are faded or looking rough, but I have found most people like to stay pretty traditional. As far as the commercial properties we do, I switch them up constantly, I tend to go with trending colors and a more high design, there is no emotional attachment to the managers at car dealerships like there are to homeowners. Let me see if I can resize some pics, I would be more than happy to post some! I can't believe how fast the holidays are approaching this year! The stores are dragging their feet around here getting stuff up too! |

I have a friend who does holiday decor for businesses - and it is for sure his busiest time of year - he does big business with this arm of his company! Fun stuff. |
