I finally downloaded my pictures from our vaca to Punta Cana, so I thought I'd share. The weather was fabulous the entire time we were there and the sky was this clear every day.

The resort was Princess Suites on Bavara Beach. Here is our bungalow. It had beautiful grounds, and was also a bird sanctuary, so here are my favorite birds

I couldn't do all the stuff I normally would, but if I was going to have to lay around 'keeping the weight of my head off of my neck', might as well do it there, right? ;) Did lots of reading and drinking, though! The treetops were what I spent most of the time looking at, and I stayed within easy access of the pool bar! Hubby had to do all the watersports and fun stuff by himself this time, but it looks like he still had fun!!

That look's very beautiful, Sherry Lynn. I wish you could have put one of those birds in your Suitcase :eek: :D I am glad you guy's had a nice time..I am sorry all you were able to do was lay around and drink!!!! :thumbup: :p

Too late. He's back in NYC!! Got in late last night, all cranky and had to stay in late tonight for a business dinner! :rolleyes: He'll be in rare form by the time he gets home!

Plat - the birds were beautiful!! They had peacocks roaming the property, but I never did get a good picture of one. Cockatiels and flamingos and others I don't even know what kind they were...

As you can see hubby was drinkin', too!! I left all the books I had brought with me and filled the suitcase with rum and tequila to bring home!! :D

I don't know what a 'Champion" trip is, so I guess not... (Unless you're calling hubby a champion! hehehe!)

My travel agent booked it through Apple Vacations if that's what you mean.

Nah, my husband worked for a company named "Champion" up until a few months ago. Every year, the company takes the employees on a trip. They just took a trip to Punta Cana in the last week or so--I think to the Paradisus Riviera, or something. I was just wondering if by chance happened to be where you or your hubby worked. :)

No, but we were there a few years ago and stayed at the Paradisus Bavara. (Bavara is the name of the stretch of beach where a lot of resorts are.) It is right next door to where we stayed this time. Same difference, though. Y'all missed out if the company paid for it. Is Champion looking to hire? Is it the company that makes the sweatshirts?

In this picture it is the resort directly behind the sailboat.

And your right, the Paradisus RIVIERA is where we stayed in Cancun. What a bummer to come home and have to pay for your food again! :(

:p A lot of Canadians and Europeans vaca there, and they are more liberal. No offense intended, but you just don't see that at the Jersey Shore unless you're at a clothing optional beach!!

I kept telling my husband 'thank you' and when he finally asked 'what for' I told him for not wearing Speedos!! The rest of the vaca, all I had to say was 'thank you' and he knew there was a small Speedo in the immediate vacinity! Some things just aren't age or weight appropriate!

Adults are one thing, but I was uncomfortable with the number of young children playing in the surf without ANYTHING ON!!!! Of the multitudes on the beach on any given day, statistics dictate that there had to be at least one pedophile somewhere with a zoom lens.... THAT I found disturbing.

Just like the pictures of Kimberly's puppies, anything can show up on the Internet! :rolleyes:

Really? You know that is soooo true. I wouldn't let my child run around naked for any reason in a public place :eek: I'm not at all offended by the topless people though. It would definitely make for an "interesting" trip :D I couldn't do it myself though!! We go to a place called Holden Beach and you don't see anything of the sort there. Rarely do we even spot a thong! LOL

How are the prices there? Are there other activities? Do you know if there is good scuba diving?

Your pictures are AWESOME, and it looks like a place I would love to go!!! :D I'd say "welcome home", but you would probably sigh and look regretful, lol! :D

Yeah, and reality sucks!! :D

Had my final epidural on the 4th and went to the Drs last Monday. He gave me 2-3 more MONTHS :eek: of 'keeping the weight of my head off of my neck' so that scar tissue can grow and keep the disc in place without surgery!!! (That phrase just cracks me up-he doesn't realize what a BIG head I have or how hard it is for me to sit still!!)

So I'll be pending more time on YT the next couple of months. Longer if I lose my job over this whole odeal!!! :rolleyes: Wonder if you can get unemployment after being on disability? :confused:

Dominican Republic has some of the best island deals you can find. We like to go to all-inclusive resorts, and they have plenty of activites. I just couldn't partake this trip because of a recent neck injury.

I don't scuba, but like to snorkel, and that's good down there. (I recall from the last time we were there.) The resort we were at had daily scuba lessons as part of the package, and the classes were always full, so I would guess it must be pretty good.

Bavara Beach is one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to, so I would highly recommend it. Hanging out locally isn't advisable, but as long as you don't leave the resorts you're okay.

Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous, I would love to go there one day. I absolutely love to snorkel and I hope to get dive certified one day :)
