Oh that's interesting! I read that to save tomato seeds you have to ferment and dry them. But the chickens did all the work for you. I don't have luck so far with tomatoes. |
Before getting Teddy, I considered raising Silky chickens. They are apparently supposed to be very doting on their owners i.e. respond to commands and sit in your lap! They also lay eggs etc. In addition, they are cute and nice to pet. I found out about these chickens when I went on vacation in Southern England and totally fell in love with their individual personalities. However, they can't be left in wet areas as they will get fungal infections (fatal) as their feathers cover the tops of their feet. Apparently, as smart as they are, they don't realize that they need to physically remove themselves from wet areas so you have to ensure you do this for them and put them to bed at a regularly scheduled time! I will probably never have chickens but it's nice to think about from time to time.. |

I know what you mean about Martha Stewart benefiting from staff support. We have a running joke in our house after watching Martha pretend to build stone walls. We mimic the way she said in the video, "I just looooove building rock walls." Every big project, we always say, "I just loooove . . . " She isn't a complete slouch, not afraid to get to dirty, but doesn't do all of the work, of course. |
I would love to have chickens, but so would Cookie.:eek::eek: |

I needed Cookie's help in my backyard this week. Something was making noise in our wooded area. It may have been Mrs. Opossum. :D |
