See, here's what happened: I had a note on my Appt. Book for April 8th as your birthday. But when I looked in the Birthdays on the 8th, you weren't listed and so I thought I'd put in the date wrong on my Appt. Book. Then I lost my Appointment Book - where my whole life and notes and everything are! Called everywhere and it's not turned up anywhere. Then today, I searched out last year's birthday thread and found I would have been right to have posted after all. Is that right - was your Birthday April 8th?

Jeanie, you are such a special person and a dear friend. The special bonds that last throughout the year are what's important to me, and it means so much to me that you went to such lengths to check the date. I don't make a big deal about my birthday, and I most likely didn't write down my birth date on my profile page. Your wishes have truly warmed my heart, and yes, it was on the eight. John mentioned my birthday a few days before it, but he didn't realize the date on that Wednesday. He felt terrible he missed it, and he was also upset I didn't tell him it was my birthday. I knew he remembered my birthday, jut not on that day because he wasn't thinking of the day or date; John would give me the world if he could, so I was not upset in the least. We both were very focused on a doctor's appointment the next day that I was taking him to, and it was that morning that he realized we did nothing for my birthday. I don't need birthday celebrations because every day I have very loving, caring people (and a very special little girl!) in my life who add so much beauty to my life. They make every day special. Thank you, sweet Jeanie, for caring and for your wonderful birthday wishes.

You poor thing about your appointment book. I'm sure it's partly age, but I think it's more lack of sleep and so many stressors, but my ability to remember dates, even for people who I love dearly, is becoming more difficult for me. I never forget the time frame of the birthday, but I might be off by a couple of days. I'm great at going to buy cards, and I'm very particular about them and take a long time trying to find a meaningful one, yet I'm terrible about siting down to mail them. I really hope you find your book.

I should have trusted my book entry(while I still had it!:)) and made your special Birthday thread the 8th but just wasn't thinking clearly - should have realized that you wouldn't appear in Birthdays if it wasn't listed on your profile page! And didn't even think then to check last year's thread. Then I lost the book day before yesterday and have spent two days calling around, relooking all through and under the truck and driving everyone crazy where I was Wednesday, asking them to look again. Ah, well, there go a lot of notes, dates and phone numbers and all my appointments and reminders for the rest of the year! Ugh.

I'm so sorry you didn't get to have a memorable, special Birthday dinner or party but I know how hard life gets under trying circumstances. John must have been so upset that he, too, forgot, poor guy. But the good thing is, even the most distracted of us came around and eventually remembered - just sorry it took me this long! Still, you know what a dear, special friend you are to me and all the longtimers and newcomers on this forum, so here is our chance to tell you in a small way we're thinking of you. Have yourself a special day this weekend to make up for it and do something to treat yourself. ((((Hugs to you, John and beautiful little Katie))))

Bumping as this went up on a Friday evening - and - I have good news!

A lady from Cracker Barrel where I had lunch Wednesday called this morning very early to say she found my Appointment Book and the book I am reading in the retail section there and had been keeping it with her until she had a chance to call, fearing turning it into management would cause it to just get stuck away somewhere and nobody would follow-up. She will have it with her at the restaurant all week and says I can pop in any time to pick it up. I'm so relieved! All my phone notes and each year Tibbe's medication journals for the year go in that year's book.

So next year, hopefully when I see 4-8-16 come up and the reminder of your Birthday, Miss Lisa, I won't question whether I got the date wrong!
