Usually they say TGIF...I say TGIM!! LOL! Can't wait to watch tonight! :) |
I know, right? I just reminded my hubby The Voice is on tonight. This year we actually agree on our favorites. He likes Sawyer too, usually we have differing opinions. |
I'm a professional Blues singer ( As in I do it as my sole income and have for many years) and I think Sawyer is fantastic. Sometimes he bites off a little more then he can chew ( Like that Simple man- too big for him IMHO- he wasn't old enough to deliver that with the passion it needed but for a 15 year old??? HOLY MOLEY! THat kids is great!) I think his potential is endless and I think he will grow into songs like that, the same way Johnny Lang did 20 years ago. And I think Sawyer can really make a mark in the genre as a whole. Let's just hope when his voice matures it's as exceptional then as it is now. So many youngsters ruin their voices when they are thrust into a mainstream market like Pop music. I really hope that doesn't happen to Sawyer. Also hope they allow him to stay "Blues" rather than trying to make him bastardize his sound to fit "Pop" Markets. That said...the Rock Ballerina singing CREEP BLEW ME AWAY! OMG! She totally won me over with that. Right now... she is my front runner. But so far my front runner has never won except for Tessanne Chin. LOL And yeah I think Joshua is very good too. It's not always about "Power" sometimes having an identifiable sound counts more than range or lung power. Diana Krall and Norah Jones have made monstrous careers off of that. When I think about it - Luther Vandross also wasn't a power sings...but had that soothing R&B vibe Joshua has. He's definitely easy to listen too. |
India and Meghan are my favs. :) |
For weeks I have been favoring Sawyer and India, but tonight I am putting Koryn ahead of India. Wow, those young kids are amazing, aren't they? |
Last night was enjoyable! Thankfully, they did two songs...India's first one was ok but I think she did MJ's song wonderfully. It seems everyone's second song was done great. Sawyer is so consistent...loved how he performed his songs. |
#1) Sawyer #2) Meghan #3) Koryn #4) Joshua #5) India Meghan's "Amazing Grace" moved her up on my list of favorites. I love Koryn's tone, but feel she over-sings...tries too hard. |
I was a bit surprised India was voted off. I agree with you Kathy that Koryn may need a more ballad song to keep from over trying. Next week should be good. |
I am still shocked that Joshua is still there. WELL next week is the Finale. |
Now that Kimberly is gone, (Still head scratching over that) I'm rooting for Megan. Even though I think Sawyer is great and he does sing in my genre...Megan blew me away when she did Steamroller Blues and won me over. She's now my front runner. But Sawyers youth may also help him out a lot. Koryn is great- very passionate. But yes she over sings ( Something I am guilty of sometimes) and I honestly think until she learns to reign in her instrument, if she had to do a tour- or work professionally every night singing that hard she would hurt her voice. I'm kind of amazed that he coach isn't telling her to control it a bit more. But then again...her passion is really rare and does make her interesting to watch. I can't see Joshua being in the running at the final call. |
Joshua over India surprised me. I am not a Sawyer fan. My money is on Meghan. I have liked her all along. |
