1/12/2006 on the Today Show: Can Dogs Help Detect Cancer? interesting segment i saw before heading into work this morning: Can dogs help detect cancer? Jan. 12: NBC's Michael Okwu reports on dogs that detect cancer by smelling a person's breath. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032633/?ta=y |
I'm at work and I don't have speakers on the computer, can anyone post what the video says please? I'm really interested in knowing more about this topic. |
I have heard this before. On the breastcancer.org site you can see many threads on their message board about dogs and cats who seemed to know there was a problem with their owners before the women even knew. It's pretty amazing! :p |

this can be explained by the fact that cancer cells release different molecules from those of their healthy counterparts and that difference may be perceived by the dog's highly sensitive olfactory system. |
