Christmas stories - Share your tale/tail Care to share any funny, sweet, surprising Xmas stories? One of mine is; after present opening and paper clean up we let the dogs out of their crates - one by one. Magic usually the best behaved - gallops into the living room, passes all the humans, and immediately looks underneath the tree; where in he takes a *white sweater* in his mouth and goes to give it to one of our guests:) Do ya think he had the Xmas spirit of giving in mind? ;) |
I got to go to my boyfriend's moms house for lunch who knows my daughter is too young to eat nuts and I hate nuts in food and we both hate ranch dressing so she made a salad with nuts in it, chicken breast filled with ranch dressing and ranch dressing mashed potatoes with sweet potato pie made with artificial sweetener that babies also cannot have... so after listening to my child cry because there was nothing for her other than the Goldfish that thank goodness I thought to bring!!! We then opened gifts in which I was gifted all her old dishcloths and clothes hangers since she decided to buy herself new ones and my daughter got two tiny little figurines that a 1 year old child should NEVER have!! |
Goodness - Maybe next year suggest no gifts! Boy that woman is truly thoughtless. I don't know about you, but if I know someone does not like something I always provide an alternative if I must have that what-ever. Or you could make a point and pack a lunch for yourself and your child next year if you are invited for lunch;) |
This isnt a story I just wanted to say how very Thankful I am for My Husband. He is the most generous person I know and really made our Christmas special and magical. I dont tell him enough how much I love him and appreciate him but I do alot. He is the most wonderful Husband there is and Im lucky hes my Husband. |

I always wrap ZoE's presents along with the rest and put them under the tree. They sat there for a week and she never touched them. Christmas mornng, we packed all the presents in my car and drove to my parents house, and set them around their tree. Once everyone arrived, we all went into the living room, and began the handing out of presents. As soon as ZoE saw the first person opening wrapping paper, she went to the presents, pulled out one of hers and began opening it herself. We were all amazed! |
Wow that was amazing! Smart gal |
Boxing Day memorable moment A lil bit of a back story: my good friend David, he lost his Blackie just this past August, and he was devastated. He mourns Rufus's loss so much, and thought that he could never have another Blackie again. He avoided folks (including me) who had Blackies, because it was just too painfull. How-ever he did agree to come over Boxing Day for dinner, knowing of course, that he would meet our new older pup Dara, and of course Magic who he knows well (who was a half brother to Magic) - in fact the reason why he bought his Rufus. Well things went so well, he never ever stopped petting Magic, and he opened up his heart to talk to *doggy lovers* about his loss, and to share his memories of Rufus. He mused that he is starting to be ready to open his heart again to another wee puppy Blackie. He now thinks that Rufus would want him to love and be loved by another Blackie again! We agreed! I think that there are a few folks whose life is not complete without the opportunity to love and be loved by a dog. that a dog completes our life in ways sometimes words can't portray. We were very happy to hear today, that he has put his name on a waiting list for a breeder that we both know. I think this was one tiney example of the *Miracle of Christmas*. |

Oh Wow! And I thought it was bad that my mother-in-law re-gifted to my 6 mo. old great grandson! I peeked when she delivered his gift and found stuffed animals she got from her daughter a few yrs. back. I didn't say anything but it really hurt my feelings to know that's how my part of the family rates. She made sure to buy plenty of stuff for her blood great grand kids! (I made sure to out do her with my little man!!!) Oh well...they have to live with themselves..right! I pushed to have both my side of the family and hers together for Christmas. Next year I will do the same! All in all it was a very good time! I really had to laugh when my grandson who is 20 opened his Star Wars T-shirt from her. Just made my day when I saw his face!! I told him it is the thought that counts! Used Dish Clothes and clothes hangers!!! You have me beat by far!! |

That is amazing! I originally placed my pups presents in stockings and put them under the tree but my pups kept dragging them out. I hug them on the fireplace until Christmas eve and my pups went nuts when I took them down. They all knew they were for them! |
My Stove guardians LOL 1 Attachment(s) Where my blackies like to be when I am cooking |
Our three year old grandson received rafts of gifts at his other grandparents' house and then came to ours to open yet another "family-full" of presents. The two gifts he said were his favorites? The peppermint "spoon" I put in all of the stockings and the biscotti in the water bottle-also from his stocking! So much for the bike, play race track, Lego table, cash register, college sweatshirt and who knows what else! Gotta love their priorities! |
