Great post, love all the food pictures (I am a foodie big time). String Ray Beach looks a little scary, I thought they are not friends to us. | Sting Ray City is actually not a beach. It's a sand bar out in the middle of the ocean. The sand goes up really high so the water is only about 3 feet deep. The rays here are very tame. They are used to humans that come by everyday. It started getting popular in the 80s. Fishermen would go there to clean out their fish guts and the rays came to feed. Now they all know to go there for free food. We feed them squid now instead of fish guts. :) They are very friendly. They come by and "pet" you. Their undersides are very soft and smooth. Quote:

This looked wonderful! I've not been on a cruise (except for a windjammer cruise which was great many years ago.) We are considering one around next Thanksgiving with our grown kids and their significant others. If you have any suggestions let me know! | Holiday cruises are usually more expensive, esp New Years. However if you look at some last minute cruises, Thanksgiving week can be cheap. My friend booked on this Thanksgiving last minute for a very good price. There will also be more kids during a holiday sailing bc that's when kids are out of school.
What area are you looking to cruise? Caribbean, Mexico, Mediterranean, Alaska, Hawaii? What do you guys like to do? Do you like to relax and do nothing, or do you like to keep busy with activities? Snorkeling, beach, shopping, eating, etc?
I try to keep the budget of about $100-140pp per day for a balcony cabin, and I include my alcohol budget in with that. Some cruiselines include free beverage packages (incl alcohol) as a perk during some times in the year. If you don't want/need a balcony it will of course be less. I like to have a balcony. For me it's a must. Some don't use them much, so not a big deal.
Let me know what your questions and concerns are and I can try to help you. I can pretend I am planning a new trip. :) There are just so many tips and tricks on saving money that I'd love to share with you! Quote:

Love all the pics. I am SO hungry after seeing the food pics, YUM! | Unfortunately the food on board wasn't that great. I remember Celebrity food was good back in 2001 last time I sailed with them. I still read people saying they have the best food. Meh. Food on the Allure was pretty good, but that ship is too huge and too many kids. LOL |
