Injured cat.. I just saw an injured cat walking around the parking lot in front of our office. I went to grab some food to see if I could catch him/her, but the cat took off as soon as it saw me at the door. I already called animal control and emailed surrounding businesses to look out for the cat and to contact me or animal control if they see him/her. What else can I do to help this poor cat???? His/her front left leg was so injured, s/he couldn't even walk on it. It's going to be so cold tonight and horrible tomorrow... I'm not sure about leaving food/shelter out b/c it's wooded area right behind the parking lot (where I think the cat took off to) and there are wild animals roaming about. (like deers, foxes, etc...) So I don't want to attract those. |
Oh gosh, how heartbreaking. Many animals are SO hard to catch, even if you do everything right :(. And it breaks your heart to not be able to help them. I'd probably try continuing to leave food out. Also, have some canned food at the ready in case you see it again, so you can open the can and see if you can entice him to you. If it is feral, it will be super hard to catch him... |
That's so sad. It's a really hard decision, esp if the cat is feral. If AC catches him, they would likely put him down. I know some communities catch feral cats and do a spay/neuter and then release them, but I have no idea about injured ones. |
Did you ever see this kitty again and were you able to catch it? |
