That's so odd that you can click on these buttons, and that they're not just different versions of the same tree -- but totally different trees - Amazon doesn't usually do that kind of thing, weird.

Well....here's what I did...I figured out that I like "Cashmere Pine" Xmas trees (like the one in the Amazon link). Someone said go to Kmart - and there is a closing Kmart not far from my house so I went there and all the trees are 20% off. I wanted something different, so I got a "slim" 7ft cashmere pine w/ 500 clear lights. It's so skinny and cool/different - I love it! They had regular non-slim cashmeres too, but I couldn't stop looking at the slim one and how different it looked. Some of you would probably hate it, lol! Kazzy, you might hate the thing :D!

Well, glad you found something you like, I think some of the skinny ones look great in the right spot, they seem to be showing more skinny ones in the last couple of years. Does it sound complicated to put it together?

I like the slim ones! They don 't take up a quarter of a room like the wide ones do. Cashmeres are nice and soft, so they don't tear up your hands while you're decorating them. I have cashmeres in urns that I put on my front porch.

Now do you get to treat yourself to new decorations too?

No, not hard it all. Most of the new trees now just come in 3 pieces. So you just plop down level 1, plop level 2 into level one, and plop the topper onto level 2 and DONE. So, it's just a lot of plopping. :p

Lol...I did treat myself to a few new boxes of sparkly glittery rounds :D! Couldn't pass up glittering balls!

We live in a narrow Row House so I had to get what we lovingly call a "Jenny Craig" tree (very slim).


I looked for almost one entire season for the perfect tree and I finally found it at WALMART!!! It is a six foot, pre-lite with while bulbs and is very slim so it fits without taking up the entire Great Room.


It is not real full but I stuff all kinds of pin decorations in it to fill it out and then over load it bulbs and ribbon.


I love Christmas Tree's, they are just so pretty no matter the size or shape. I think I will start a thread this year asking everyone to post a picture of their tree.

The tree looks striking in your house it's perfect with the tall ceilings. Gosh that's a great camera too, all the pictures are works of art! I love the deer in the background, beautiful.

Boscovs, Michaels, Sears, Kmart, and Walmart usually have good, reasonable trees. Our most recent one is from Sears. I'd be afraid to buy one online because you can't feel how strong the branches are or anything online.
LOL....our prelit tree only lasted maybe 3 years. A couple years back my husband and I set it up, plugged it in and the entire middle of the tree didn't light up. Determination is my husband's middle name so he began checking every single light for 2 DAYS! :eek: On day TWO I ran to the store and came home to find him with wire cutters and a pile of lights. Being married for 27 years I just turned around and went back to Target to purchase all new lights. Prelit no more :rolleyes:

I feel your pain. The top 1/3 of ours didn't light, last year. It took me hours to find the burnt out bulbs and about 4 days later it happened again-untrimmed the tree and started over by cutting the lights off the entire top section and adding string lights. I also added extra lights to the entire tree :D

I love real trees but it has been 36 year since we have had a real one. My son had an asthma attack on his 2nd Christmas so after that it has been artificial. The tree we have now I got for 1/2 price at Target 4 years ago after Christmas.

Thanks gals, for the compliments - I've never had a tree set up SO early, lol, but I had to make sure I liked it. This is the tallest tree I've ever owned. I've always been so anti-Christmas (ever since my Mom died when I was 21, decades ago!)...and I'm only just recently getting more in the spirit of things again.

Thanks ShowGirlLola for telling me to check out Kmart bc I wouldn't have thought of it, but wow, they have a great selection of Cashmere Pine trees which is what I like the most! Great prices too! My Skinny Minny was only $110! The other, regular shaped cashmere pine I was looking at was only going to be $129 on sale. Amazing.

I got one bc I light up my sheer curtains year round, which means burnt out bulbs. And this tool thingy can help you repair and/or find the culprit. I got mine for $14.99, but looks like they're 19.99 right now.

Awww I looooveeee Xmas time!! So excited to start decorating here. I can't wait til I have my own place so I can do all my of my own, but my mom & I equally decorate, I think.

Ann, I really like that tree, your decor is gorgeous too. Love your style!

So glad your able to start decorating again, Christmas can be a wonderful time, if the emphasis is taken of the material and placed on family, friends, spiritual growth and love. You are such a peaceful loving person and you exhibit such goodwill towards others, I'm glad that you can enjoy the holiday once again.

I love what you've done with the curtains too.
