[QUOTE=megansmomma;4495181]Wow! That's simply amazing and I'm so very jealous. Do you have room for me and my :animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa ?[/QUOTE Of course you are, and yes I have more than enough room, heck everyone here can come and stay for awhile...while I'm off with Ann visiting SirTeddykins in Europe!! |
Thanks everyone for responding!!!!!!!!!! What a varied bunch of people we are! Wylies mom - your paintings are gorgeous and remind me of the sunsets in Phoenix where I used to live and worked at Morgan Stanley. Gemy - eclectic is how I have been defined although I never really understood what was meant by that - so thanks for giving me your take on it Harrysmum - Happy belated birthday!!!! x GuinnessStout - mortgage litigation sounds very complicated and such a departure from insurance but I can see how it would tie in with insurance claims - how amazing that you can also do wedding/event planning! I can barely remember to dress somedays...lol Rachael - I can't really say much about what you do because when I read the word "neuroscience" I felt sick with nerdy elation, therefore, I would write too much about that and gloss over everything else about you...lol! I also had my child at 19.. don't know about you..but that makes me feel very old as people seem to be having children a lot later! Kay - how can you not have carbs? I think I tried that when I was younger and I'm sure I almost died so gave up! Lynzy - your life is amazing so I think we must be twins - can't wait to meet you here in England - I've been looking for my twin for years now - who knew you'd be on YT! |
Lol, well this one is fun... My name is Alyssa, I was born and raised in Corbett Oregon a small rural town outside of portland. Though I left, I am back here now where my family has been for over a hundred years raising my own children. I have two daughters and three sons: 13(almost),11,8,6 and four and I have a fabulous love of my life who has also brought his eight year old son along with him. So we are a party wherever we go :) Lilah is my special personal princess and I have a crazy calling to show but as yet have been grasping the ropes and concepts (and working on grooming!) more than anything else. My fourth child is a firecracker of sorts and has thrown my relaxed nature mama parenting style for a loop. He has special needs and my life has changed a lot as a result. For the last five years (just a dabbler before that) I have been intensively farming for my family milking goats, gardening, raising our own meat for butcher, hide tanning, spinning yarn, dying wool with onion skins and shearing sheep and goats etc. I have worked at a farm/pet/garden store that whole time as well which has helped a lot with my endeavors. Turns out I have developed severe allergies and asthma though (dust, hay, goats, rabbits) and I have slowly been letting this lifestyle go. Between serious respritory challenges and my six year old Orion's special needs I'm pretty tapped out in that arena. I miss spinning and processing wool but still very much enjoy knitting and have been making Icelandic color work sweaters and norwegian snowflake hats. I am having fun putting on heels and wearing black dresses and attending pet trade shows and doing more paperwork- when you change out of your dirty carharts turns out the men will load their own hay most of the time ;) I went to school to learn assisting in the dental field and graduated with honors, I have my radiology liscence and various functions certifications but the atmosphere of my current job is very appealing. With my breathing troubles I think of working in an office but with my sons needs and challenges no one else could be as flexible as my wonderful current job (shoot, my oldest broke her arm yesterday and in the last two weeks one got strep throat, one impetigo and one pink eye!) so any future careers will have to wait. I think I would like to be a sales rep for pet products honestly. Anyway, I am quite sure that's enough rambling for my giant post! Nice to meet you :daisy: |
I certainly feel older than I am because my friends are just starting to have kids or they are still waiting. I highly doubt I'd have another because it surely would be completely starting over. I sort of look forward to still being in my 30s when my daughter (Londynn) will be off to college. |
