I'm so sad about Joan. Keeping this bottle of Grey Goose close today. |
I have to say, I was SO sad at her passing and really teared up a ton last night as they were covering her a lot on many TV stations. I think the reason it's bothering me so much is bc she had SO much life left in her! SO much! She was full of energy and had a chock full schedule, even at 81. So tragic, even though she's lived such a tremendous life. I really admired her also...beneath that funny, witty, sometimes-crass humor (which I LOVED) was a very sensitive, insightful, and deep person. She talked candidly of her husband's suicide, her own devastating depression, and her other adversities - yet she always seemed to maintain her openness, kindness, and liveliness. She was truly a pioneer for women in comedy, truly. No woman did her kind of humor before her. She was a real maverick. Bless her heart for bringing us so much laughter. RIP Joan Rivers. |
I just Loved Joan Rivers for so many years. I remember her from the very beginning of her career and always loved her quirky sense of humor. It was Spike that made me want a Yorkie. I had never seen one before. Remember Joan saying that Spike saved her life after the the suicide of Joan's husband. She always wanted another but said no other could live up to what Spike was to her. I was fortuate enough to have seen her perform live as well. I pray for her family. Melissa and Carter and Joan have always just been 'one'. Sad to have lost two wonderful performers she and Robin Williams in such a short time. |
