Took my boys out yesterday.... To walk the beach at the lake and they made an older couple cry! My boys were eating their vanilla ice cream, and all of a sudden a crowd of maybe 8 people descended on us, my boys stopped eating, looked up at them all and this older couple said that my Fletcher looks like their Frisbee did. They went on to tell me they lost him recently to heart problems, he was just over 9 years old (my boys turned 9 yesterday!) and are heartbroken, they both carry his pic with them and they showed it me. They were choking back tears. I was so sad for them. This is the second time this summer my boys have brought someone who just lost their Yorkie to tears! On a lighter note, we had dinner at this restaurant with some friends at the lake yesterday and this woman had her yorkie with her out on the patio. O-M-G! This dog was the PRINCESS who did not want to be! HAHAHA beautiful dog (all blonde, no black at all), very spoiled by her mama, well groomed, feathers in her hair, beautiful dress on, etc... mom kept talking to her, but this dog wanted down off the chair, wanted to explore, she looked anything but the dainty, pretty girl that her momma wanted her to be. She was a very sweet girl! I love seeing people treat their little fur-babies ... like... well... babies! :) |
How sad for them... only at 9 too. Vanilla ice cream for dogs or humans? I've seen some ppl give their dogs human ice cream but not sure how ok that is. I hold Magnus and Zoey like babies sometimes and have friends roll their eyes at me. I just remind them that they have their babies and I have mine so don't judge! :D |

What a lovely evening you had, but so sad for that couple...but maybe seeing your kiddos will inspire them to get another fur baby to love. |
What a sweet story. Yorkies are such good ambassadors for the dog world. I've always gone crazy when I see a Yorkie out in public! They are just such a special breed, if you've ever had one, seeing one out and about always looks familiar to you and just lights you up inside and you gravitate toward it. I hope your two babies helped that couple decide how much they need another Yorkie when the time comes, if they are up to properly caring for it. |
I never did ice cream, I always did a burger patty from Wendy's drive through once a year for their birthday. No bun, no condiments. They loved it. |
Similar, while I was walking Gucci to OO Denny Park along Juanita drive, an older guy pulls his truck over, jumps out, crosses the busy street to tell me his old boy's story. His older pup waited for the old guy's birthday to pass in his arms. He asked permission to pick up Gucci, I allowed it, you could see it brought the old guy much joy. Gucci loves the attention! |

I give Teddy ice cream and make special drive-thru trips so he can have his vanilla treat about once every 8-12 weeks. I can't help doing this for him. His ice cream covered moustache is cute! |
Aww such a sweet story. . .. I guess I am the meanest Momma ! I give him not table food. Not a taste nothing . . Poor neglected Baby Galen  |
