Organ Donation I just want to remind people how important Organ Donation is, live or upon death. It is easy to become a donor by contacting your States DMV, or when you renew your license or by contacting your doctor. There are so many people in need. My dear friend passed away yesterday, leaving behind her husband, daughter and newborn son. She suffered complications during childbirth (HELLP) and was awaiting a liver donation....sadly it was not meant to be. She never got to hold the son she was so happy to be having. In addition to that the world lost one of those rare people whose vivacious smile is all you can think of when you think of her, she was a positive person who never said a bad word about anyone, she was truly one of those one of a kind people you meet so few of in this world...we've lost so much.......... The last time I was with her was at work, we went for a walk for about an hour, when we were getting off the elevator she saw someone she knew I was going to lambaste for something and pushed me back on the elevator and my scarf got stuck...we laughed like teenagers......sadly hours later her fate took a different turn than the one we just discussed in detail.... I guess this is the only way I can really do something...Please sign up for Organ Doantion living/or upon death....I know there are people dying while they are waiting.....I've lost a dear friend and the world truly lost a truly valuable citizen, she was a doer, an advocate and dearly loved. http://www.organdonor.gov/becomingdonor/ |
I am so sorry for your loss. It's so important. My cousin was on a transplant list for 2 years. He finally got a liver, right when he was at deaths door. He had a disease, I can't recall now, but it wasn't from alcoholism. I am an organ donor on my license. I am not sure if there is anything else I could do though? |
I'm so sorry that's very sad. I always have been on my license. I have often wanted to donate blood because I have a rare type but after having two bouts of anemia it was not thought to be a good idea. My parents both want anything that can be donated donated if something happens to them and then they want the rest to be donated to a medical school. |
I am so sorry that you have lost a friend so tragically. It truly does underscore the need for organ donation AND loving every moment with our friends and family. |
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. But what a nice tribute to her, to do this post. |
I am so sorry to read about your friend, Lynzy. How tragic for the entire family who must now bury their loved one when they should be celebrating the start of a new life. Quote:

I'm so sorry Lynzy. It's a terrible thing to lose a friend, especially in the prime of her life. Hugs. :( |
So sorry to hear of your dear friends passing, My husband recieved a liver transplant 4-10-2013 and is doing well, he also was right at deaths door but the good Lord seen fit to let me keep him awhile longer and for that I will be forever grateful! He had a disease that took his grandfathers life and his dads life, Alpah 1 Antitrypsin Def. but with his new liver he is cured. Thank you for sharing your friends story and may at least one person decide to give the chance of life on your friends behalf. Sending prayers to you and your family! |
I certainly agree! Sorry for your loss. My cousin had a liver transplant 2 years ago. I'm so thankful for the donor because she was only 34 at the time, married mother of 3. This particular cousin of mine is like a big sister to me so I couldn't fathom loosing her before we are old and gray. |
So sorry for your loss Lynzy. It is a great way to honor your friend to remind us all of how important organ donation is. |
I am deeply sorry for your loss. It's such a tragic loss for her family and those who loved her. I'm sure there will be many beautiful stories to tell her newborn son about his mom as he grows up. |
I'm so sorry:unlove: I am an organ donor. It's important! |
