One day I decided I was going to learn how to use Photoshop Elements to make an animated avitar. Villette and Julz make it look so easy....when I say One Day...I mean I spent ONE ENTIRE DAY trying to figure out how to do it. I am very computer literate. I can learn anything I put my mind to....EXCEPT THIS! I finally got so frustrated I was sitting at the computer desk doing that primal growl thing when my 14 year old daughter walks by and says, "mom, do you want me to do it for you?" She made me send the pics to her "photobucket"-whatever THAT is!-and had my new Av done in 5 minutes. Little turkey. It moves a little too fast. My only complaint. I coulda done about 5 loads of laundry and had a relatively clean house instead of a day of frustration....

Great story Tiffany! That is exactly why I have never even tried to do an animated avatar. I think it would drive me insane!

Too funny, but I definitely can relate. I've had photoshop for a year, but never got past the head-banging stage. I secretly thought the ones who knew how to do avatars were being stingy for not sharing the advice, but after learning I see why. There are a lot of intricate steps. Nothing difficult in itself, but a lot of things you have to do a certain way or nothing works. And I'm just doing the most basic stuff.

Iheartyorkies, I love that expression too! I've never seen a breed of dog that has more smirks and smiles and frowns than Yorkies. I believe that look was one of terror when Sophia was chasing him.

boots but I thought that almost looks like he is ice skating...so glad you added the

I'm really wanting photoshop, but it is so expensive, has anyone searched on the net for a downloadable copy of photoshop or something similar that is not that expensive??

Thanks, Val. Coming from the best-avatar-maker-ever-born, that's a compliment! I'm using image ready, which came with photoshop cs.

I luv Miko, photoshop elements is much cheaper than photoshop, and I've been told you can do animated avatars with that.

As to the rest of you who noted I obviously have too much time on my hands, you're right. Either that or no life! But it's addictive!
