Anyone got an old ATT cell phone they wanna sell me? Bf lost his phone....again. The deductible is $125! Plus the activation fee of $36, how is that insurance? I can buy a new one for that much! I think I'm going to cancel both our insurance. Used to be only a $50 deduct. Then I checked with the ATT shop. We can upgrade and resign the contract for another two years to get a free phone, but then his line will go up from$25 to $40. What bs! So does anyone have a used one they'd like to sell? Doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. Doesnt even have to be a smartphone. Heck I think I maybe able to get the plan even cheaper if it's not. Help? Lol |
Anyone??? |
When my DH broke his, we bought a go phone from Walmart. He put his SIMS card in and it worked like a charm until we could get him another one. You might try that?? |
You could try Amazon. There are retailers that have new discontinued phones that are reasonable. |
If he's due for a new phone soon you might be able to talk the company into letting him upgrade early. My grandmom broke her phone 3 months before she was due for a new one and I talked verizon into upgrading it early for free. You can probably find a phone on ebay. |
I said in my OP that he IS up for an upgrade, but his line will go up from $25/mo to $40 bc that is the "in contract" price. We are out of contract so it's $25/mo. Over the course of 2 years that is $360. Go phones are really crappy. Got one for MIl before and it lasted a month. Plus he lost the phone with the SIM in it. I am thinking Ebay or Amazon, but a lot of sellers have open box phones with only a 60 day warranty. If I buy a used one from someone, at least I know it's used. They are selling them as new on ebay, just without the box. |
I have some old ones...but eek, I think they're really old, so I don't think you'd want it. One is an old blackberry, one is a Samsung...I think? I wouldn't sell it to you, I'd just give it to you. I might be upgrading to an iphone 4s so then I'd have my iphone 3 available...again maybe too old for ya, but probably not as bad as that blackberry or Samsung. |
Oh thank you Ann! What is the model name on either of those. Is it considered a smartphone? Bc if it's not maybe I could even get a lower priced plan for bf. He hardly uses his internet, etc on his phone. |

thanks for the pic! Is the Pantech the slider kind? Bf likes the smaller phones. If it's too big he doesn't like to put it in his pocket, and that's how they keep going missing. LOL If I don't get that phone I"m bidding on on ebay I will def take you up on your offer. :) Thanks again! |
I have t-Moblie service Same thing happen to me about 10 months ago. My son had a LG 9and lost his phone. At the time T-Moblie wanted $209 a guy at the store told me just to purchase a T-Moblie prepaid phone ( and not to tell anyone he told me to do this) so I checked Best Buy purchased the same T-Moblie phone on sale for $70. Yes it was a prepaid phone. I was told not to open the box and not to activate it. I just brought the phone in to T-Moblie and they did everything to activate it and it was put on my plan nothing changed. Thank goodness this guy told me I would have never have known. Oh he also told me If you do purchase a used phone from ebay or some place like that just make sure you purchase an unlocked phone. I know you said you have ATT I would think they would help you the same way T-Moblie helped me. |

Btw, I did find the boxes for both of them. The Pantech is a Pantech Pursuit II and the Blackberry is a 8700c. |
I actually won the Galaxy I was bidding on! I got it for under $200 and since the seller is out of state I don't have to pay taxes as if I had bought it locally. Now I gotta get in contact with the seller bc I accidentally had it with my old address. Whoops. LOL Thanks again for your generous offer though! :) |
