Oh my yuck yuck! I don't remember tasting dog food. Ever! Lol. If I did, I was too young to remember. Thank goodness! Lol.

I just remembered I tasted a Milk Bone once after I was grown - just had to know what it tasted like and why dogs acted to happy to get one. Pretty dull tasting and I wondered at how all-fired wild dogs are to get them and realized it can't be about the taste at all - just the scents they get from it and the idea of getting a prize or reward! I think they see it as something they earned as we do our paycheck or a trophy. And a dog that will work for a piece of Milk Bone will kill it for a piece of warm, boiled chicken!

I never tasted it unless my brother mixed it in some of my food:D Remember by-products can be road kill.:eek:

Eeewwww!!! Our poor dogs - they get fed just whatever happens to die alongside the road or anywhere and dog food companies' workers pick it up and haul it into the factory and cook or pasteurize it? Poor little guys. Guess they toss in bird, rats, mice and whatever.

Still, my curiosity overrode my concerns for what was in Milk Bones when I tasted it as an adult due to a real desire to know what they found so great!!! Well, it sure isn't the taste they go nuts over!

You better never read Gov Regs on acceptable levels of contaminants, such as XXX XXXX in cereal for example. I wont post it cause it might permanently ruin you appetite. The biggest problem with dog food nowadays is the Chinese additives to save money/increase profits that killed all those dogs years ago.

That's exactly the way everybody took it no doubt. I never even thought about it being about the regs as we owners of dogs know the Gov is trying to protect our dogs from those long, awful and painful deaths that we've had way, way too many of since the Chinese started dinking with our dogs' food and treats.

:D Rhonda....you've just GOT to try a tiny little nibble of Royal Canin.....:D

Jeanie - I think I was about 54 years old when I had my first taste (but kibble, not wet....:sickie:)

The curiosity of a doglover finally gets to many of us and we just have to know what it is our dogs are going so nutsy over! :D:D:D

Thing is, Harry doesn't really go nutsy over it....it's just that it smelt so very nice to ME, so I thought I'd have a little try.....:eek: :D

Probably would have been better with a fried egg on, though....:thumbup: :D xx

OH MY LORDY, Sally - you and your fried eggs on food!!! I've got to Google Image that phrase and see what a fried egg on pizza and such looks like. :D:D:D

I remember trying dry dog food when I was ~5 years old at the babysitter's house. It was dry and did not taste good. Never tried it again! lol

I have never tasted dog food. I remember thinking about doing it when I was a kid but I was too scared. lol
