I will keep you and your hubby in my thoughts. I used to sell pacemakers and had to take part in countless EP Studies, ablations, and pacemaker insertions...so many I can't count. EP Docs have extremely advanced education in this specialty and are actually some of the smartest savviest docs I've run across - they are truly top notch. EP studies and ablations are very safe and go very well...even if a pacemaker ends up being needed. The upside to all of this is that, in the end, your hubby won't have to feel the yucky, tiring, debilitating effects of afib anymore - and that will be just great! Keep us posted :). |
Donna, I am keeping your husband and you in my thoughts and prayers for all to go well today. |

thanks guys for all the prayers and good wishes, it worked. They found nothing, and no matter what they did they could not get his heart to go into an irregular beat, so they were not able to see if anything was wrong and what part of the heart is causing it. His problem is very intermittent so while that is good, it's also a bit unnerving when you don't know if this rapid heart beat could hit you out of the blue. Now they want him to have a cardio MRI. He is tired and resting. LOL they completely shaved his private parts, so now he said he is not taking a shower at the gym until it grows back:D Apparently Planet Fitness does not have curtains and individual changing rooms in the men's locker room like they do on the ladies side:( Thanks again |
Wow, poor guy having to go through all that but I\'m glad they couldn\'t make him fib easily on the test. That\'s good, I think. I hope they find out what is making him feel poorly. I know you are both exhausted after all this today - get some rest tonight and take care. They might want him to wear an ambulatory ECG machine for a 72 hour period over the weekend and see if they can catch his heart in fib. I\'ve known a person or two who had to wear that apparatus for an entire weekend and it worked one time and with another, nothing. Give him my best and I\'m still praying. |
I\'m glad he\'s ok. It doesn\'t seem to be uncommon to need it repeated. My cousin and great grand uncle have had it done at least 3x each. |
Happy to hear that everything went well today and that your hubby is resting. Praying that further testing will be easier and will be able to pinpoint the cause of the occasional irregular heartbeat -- and that it will be easy to treat. |
Glad to hear all went well with your husbands test although too bad they were unable to find the issue. My Dad also has this issue and just recently had his shocked back into a normal rhythm. Continued prayers to find and resolve this issue and best wishes to you and your husband... and may his hair grow fast so he can return to the gym.:D |
What a long day for both of you. Happy he\'s resting and alright however, it has to be upsetting to you both that they were not able to find the problem. One day at a time! God Bless you both. |
