Curious guys im thinking about purchasing a macbook pro is it worth it.

I have a Macbook Pro and love it. My only regret is that I chose the smaller one and it doesn't have the right-hand number block on the keyboard. That also means the keys on the keyboard are spread out a little more than a standard keyboard.

Next time, I will buy the larger one.

I just bought a MacBook Air Tuesday. This is my second MacBook. I also have an iPhone and iPad which I love!

Meagn do y do u have two? I also have a iphone and ipad i was wonder if it would be pointless since i have those too but seeing that my current computer is slowly giving out on me im starting to look now. And is the pro better that the air or whats the difference

I love my MacBook Pro which is now 4 years old and running perfectly. If I ever need another computer, it will be the latest version of MacBook Pro.

I've been a Mac user forever, and also love my 2 iPads, iPod, and iPhone :D

Lol you have all the apple products one of my things is i love music and i was wondering would it be hard to download music with a mac

Very easy. Do you want to download from CDs or via internet? Internet downloads will be the same as with your iPad. I think the new MacBook Pro does not have a CD/DVD drive anymore, so you'd get an external USB one and use that.

I bought my MacBook Pro used (about 4yrs old) from Cathy and loved it. But I was reluctantly forced to let my daughter take it a few months ago. She too had a brand new Pro which was purchase brand new in September for college. There really was no noticeable difference in speed between the two. When I purchase my MacBook Air the sales guy talked me into it VS the new Pro. I really like it and if your current laptop is dying a slow death I suggest you make the purchase. After handing over my MacBook to my daughter I tried to do tasks on my iPad but there were compatability issues with websites all the time and the iOS for the iPad just wasn't working for what I needed to do. It did take some getting used to with how Apple programs work but it really is very user friendly. I'll never go back! :)

With my ipad ive never tried to download music because it wouldnt let me but id be doing it from the internet

Yesss it doesnt hold a charge and i have to position the charger a certain way so it can charge and the charger has a shortage in it somehow i dont see it in my chord tho but if the chord isnt a certain the computer cuts off :-( i dont use it much but if i want to use a computer i want that option ya know.

Yes, you are correct. It was one of the reasons that I chose the Air over the Pro. He told me that unless you do a lot of graphic work the Air had a faster processor and the battery lasted longer than the Pro. It's also only 2 lbs so it really is like air. The other thing that he mentioned was there are now no moving internal parts (hard drive) in both the Pro and Air. They stay cool unlike a laptop or even the older model Pro. When we bought the Pro in September that model was a hard drive with a fan. The newest model did not. The Air was about $200 cheaper than the Pro.

I went to the Apple Store in Orland Square Mall. They are great there! I would absolutely purchase directly from Apple and not from Best Buy or wherever. They also offer classes if you feel hesitant about changing to iOS. Trust me you will love it. Btw....they did have the older Pro still available for a slight discount. But why buy the old model when they gave the new. They do offer a small Student/Teacher discount of $50. When my daughter got mad that I bought the new Air instead of the old model Pro I told her...No problem sweetheart, you can keep my old MacBook Pro and I will just keep this beautiful brand new MacBook Air ;)

She hasn't talked to me since Monday :rolleyes: that will teacher her :p

Lol i was thinking about purchasing from best buy but now you have me thinking about apple i just assumed apple was higher and i was going to pay for it monthly

I have both a macbook pro and Air. The air has a longer battery life, but other than that, I don't see a difference between the graphics and processor. I think it is so worth it, in my opinion.

Good point. I keep waiting for my MB Pro to slow down or die, then will go buy the latest whatever Mac that is out there then. But, my Macs have lasted so long, they never seem to die,haha. I have also done that trick of giving DD the older one so I can get a new one. I do all my business bookkeeping on it, plus have tons of photos that go into slide shows, and some movie editing, and of course lots of net surfing and email fun.

Does the MB Air have USB ports? Must have to hook up external hard drives and CD/DVD drive. Light weight and portability is not a major issue for me as mine rarely leaves my home... mostly on my desk, and not far from electrical outlet.

Apple has a pretty nice credit program too. The price is fixed by Apple so it really doesn't matter where its purchased. It's like buying a Weber grill they set the price and that's it.

I have a Macbook Air, prior to that I had the old White Macbook (it is still working in the hands of my niece's Grandmother In Law).

Love my Macbooks, I have never had any problems that could not be fixed by a quick Google Search of a trip to the Apple Store.

To answer someone's question yes, my Macbook Air has USB Ports and I also purchased the CD/DVD drive. I love my Macbook Air, it is so light and the battery life is close to 9 hours before it needs to be charged. I could not work with just my IPad, I need a laptop also.

If you are looking for a Macbook but are open to a refurb check out the Apple Store refurbs, they offer the same warranty as new and the prices are great.

I have bought a couple of IPads through the refurb store and have had great results.

I looooveeee Macbook, won't ever go back. I have a new one simply because I wanted more space and faster, but my Macbook from 5 years ago still works perfectly. My new one is just faster. Never had any problems.

I also love my iPhone and iPad.

Yes, there are 2 USP ports on the Air. It really is amazing how long they will last. Like I said in my first post, mine was bought used and was like new. It really did look almost exactly like the brand new Pro that we bought in October. Even the Pro is pretty lightweight but this Air is so light it's crazy!

Now I want a new one! Hmfph.

My iPad is used all day every day and has held up crazy-good. It does do one thing that is a common complaint with the 2's, but really a great product.

We have a couple white MBs. They are getting tired, but we did get them used and I am really hard on electronics. One of them was dropped on concrete and stills works pretty darn good.

If I had $$$ to spare now I'd get another one just for fun.

Do it, you won't regret it!

I've been a Mac user for years and I would never go back to PC. I have a Pro, iPad and have had several iPhones. Mac is the way to go :)
