Need Cleaning Supplies Advice As so many of you know, from the prayer thread Wylies Mom, Ann, started for Sheila-and so many of you have so graciously offers your thoughts, love, hugs, prayers.....Sheila is still very sick. MS, Lymphocytic Colitis..... I need some advice about cleaning products. I was wiping out the kitchen cabinets with Lysol mixed in water, and it made Sheila very sick. She has a bad headche and is very nauseous. Can anyone suggest products I can use, that don't have a strong smell? Sheila can't take any medications, Ibuprofen, NSAIDS, anything with Acetaminophen, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Rich |

I use a 5-10% bleach & water solution. Sprayed on a dishtowel and waved through the air, it will remove odors from the air from cleaners and perfumes, diarrhea and stuff. I also use it for cleaning. I only use it greatly diluted, then it won't leave a bleachy smell. |

I like Murphy's oil soap for cleaning, and will do what KJC does with bleach when diarrhea is to be cleaned up. |

So, the Murphy's oil soap would be good for wiping out kitchen cabinets? I'm trying to get the house cleaned thoroughly. Sheila was always the one that did all the deep cleaning. I'm getting it ready to put on the market, and Sheila insists that it must be immaculate. She said she looks inside cabinets, and it tells her a lot about how people take care of their home. We're hopefully buying a condo our Agent showed us this week, in an elevator buidling, with an undeground heated garage. Rich |

Vinegar is a great all natural cleaner, if she can stand that smell. The smell does go away within a few minutes though, and to me it is not nearly as bad as bleach. You could dilute it with water and add some essential oils like lemon or orange if that helps. |

I think she can tolerate the smell of vinegar, much better than the Lysol. I think adding some essential oils would help, too. Rich |

I'm going to try the vinegar & water. Thank you-afraid Sheila has a long road ahead, but she's determined. Rich |

I use vinegar and water also. Depending on what I'm cleaning I may also add a few drops of dawn dish detergent and generally put it in a spray bottle. Best wishes to to you both. |
