I do know this, it would have been sad if I had never had it! LOL I love corned beef.... reubens... hash.... |
Anyone have a great recipe for the crock pot? I've never made it so would purchase a pre-brined corned beef brisket but need to know what else to do. Thanks :-) |
No recipe... I put the entire contents of the bag... all the juices and the seasoning packet and the meat in the crockpot, then add enough water just to cover the meat... then turn on the crock pot.... cook all day on low then turn it to high for the last two hours.... then I add the cabbage and/or potatoes and continue cooking for 1-1.5 hours. or http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/f...ge-recipe.html |

I love this thread, just thought I would let you all know that I have never, ever seen this dish on a restaurant menu, cooked it or heard of anyone Else I know cooking it. I am 48 as of last week and was born in Northern Ireland, have visited the South of Ireland hundreds of times too. Watch the movie "the Devils Own" Brad Pitt says the same. I have however had many Reubins when. I siting the States. Hope you all have a great St Patricks day and I will definitely make it my business to cook and taste corn beef, cabbage and potatoes. |
