making model of room? Ok yall I need your ideas. I am wanting to make a "model" of my room and my furniture so I can play with it and find out how I want my furniture when it has to be moved back into my room. I don't want to spend a lot of money making something because I'm probably not gonna keep it. Any ideas how to do this? |
You can use cereal boxes or any cardboard to make the furniture and the walls. Decide what scale you want, I start just by going from feet to inches... ie; if the bed is 6 ft X 3 ft, make a cardboard bed that's 6 inches X 3 inches, etc. If you want to go smaller, just divide that in half. |

Measure the length and width of your room and convert the feet to inches....then the furniture you make from cardboard pieces will be scaled to fit inside the room! I make my outline for my rooms, the walls, with strips of duct tape on a large piece of cardboard or even the top of my folding card table....that way, walls dont move around! |
There are online programs so you can do this virtually you might want to check into. Here are some to start: 10 Best Free Online Virtual Room Programs and Tools |

In the days that I taught design I would use graph paper. You could find templates online I am sure. It is one deminsional but still gives you a way to move furniture to get an idea. I still do that when I moved, and when I get new furniture or the "move the furniture" bug that my poor dh hides from. lol have fun |
Thanks so much everyone |
