If it comes back down to Texas, I hope we don't get back down to the single digits as we did in '89! Here we got down to -1 degree one night. That was awful. I was truly frightened my pipes would freeze and the central heat just ran nonstop. |
It's coming my way too. We have had snow just about every day for a month. I want spring! |
Don't blame us this time! It's raining here and miserable. We want our Polar Vortex back! |

I can't imagine what the Super Bowl would be like if it's say 5 degrees on Super Bowl Sunday at game time. By the time half-time is over, half of the crowd will probably be long gone or in the lounges and clubs at the stadium. The coldest football game I was ever at was in the 1990's when the Cowboys played the Eagles in a playoff game in Texas stadium shortly after Christmas and it was in the mid-20's at game time and we just about froze to death by the end of the game! Can't imagine sitting through even the Super Bowl in weather colder than that!!! |
Northeast Ohio:( here, we are going to have zero temps again Monday and Tuesday. Spring is the 20 of March so lets keep hoping it doesn't snow that day:D btw, it snowed here last night. |
Okay when I left Montana for Southern Indiana I thought this would end - bottom line I did not go far enough South:eek: I vote that we give the Polar Vortex back to AlaskaYorkie as requested! Okay gues I have become a weather wimp! Claim is doing fairly well in all the snow but her little feet just can't stand it for very long - and there are slot of squirrels out there that need chasing:D Have family coming Monday from California were they tell me they played golf in 82 degree weather - boy are they in for a surprise! |

We're going to be in the 30's tomorrow, getting down to 21 Saturday morning but thankfully, our cold spell is short & sweet this time around in North Texas. |

The cold seems to be blowing in at night. We are actually hanging curtains to try to save on the electric heat.(we never put them up after the renovation- 5 years ago!) |
And I heard somewhere in the past day or two that maybe around the 4 - 7th of February, according to storms in the Bering Sea or something, the PV will return south a third time this winter and possibly keep February brutally cold! But the TV channel quickly went to a commercial after that and I never have heard that again anywhere. They used to just call it an "arctic blast". Made more sense. The name polar vortex blows, they should put that name back on the shelf. LOL |

Well it snowed yesterday, first time ever since I've lived here, but it was mainly ice pellets and this morning I had to drive in it..bleh. I couldn't even get my car door open, my entire car was completely frozen with a thick layer that I couldn't scrape off. Roads were completely iced over too. I probably did 20 mph the entire way to work haha. wasn't gonna risk it. We lost power last night hopefully it'll be back on before I get home. how do yall do it up there?! This is terrible! Lol. we did have fun in the snow last night and let luma walk around and discover her first snow. she actually liked it and had it all clumped in little snow balls on her legs and face. |
