Girl's birthday cake ideas? Hello, all! I was wondering if anyone out there had any really cute ideas for a unique cake that I could make and decorate for my daughter's birthday...She's going to be 9 and is "too big for the Disney, Barbie, etc."....Her birthday invitations are hot pink, neon green, purple, etc. Any suggestions or unique ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!! |
How about flower power? :D |
I would probably do a smiley face or flower power. Smiley face I did for my Daughter's 10th birthday. Just round and iced bright yellow and put green lime decorator around the edges and then smiley with black icing. Flower power was the next year. Just used round pan for center and used round pans and sliced in half for petals used purple pink yellow and green(all BRIGHT) for decorating. I believe yellow in the middle with the hot pink petals and lime green for outlines |
Thank you so much! I'm going to get as many ideas as I can, and then let her choose. I love the flower idea...really cute! |
what about kim possible, lizzy mcguire, dora, raven? |

I can't imagine cutting the fruitsnack one without making a mess of the cake. I think WHATEVER you do.. you should make it BRITE neon colors. 9 year olds would really like that |
I didn't even THINK about cutting the darn thing!!! That would be just my luck....go to all of the trouble to do this unique, homemade cake, and then I would massacre it when I went to serve it! Thanks for the input....I don't think it will be that one! :) |

Sorry I can't be of any help. We always go to Dairy Queen and get Ice Cream Cakes. They decorate them anyway we want. |

Ok now those are too cute. We used to get the barbie ice cream cakes from Dairy Queen. I love making cakes too...it is almost as much fun and messy which makes it even more fun, lol. |
I really like the photo cakes! They can put any photo on a cake...It might be fun to do a collage of the friends who will be at the party or something so their piece has their picture on it or just a photo of your daughter as a baby or soem other favorite photo!! |
Ideas I try my best to make the cakes for our birthdays. One I have done was feom the magazine family fun. It is a swimming pool cake, you make a round cake froest the top blue and the sides any color. Then in the blue you put teddy grahamscut some in half and have the feet in the water looking like they dove in, put the top half in breathmint inner tubes (pasted on with iceing) use strips of gum or fruit snacks as rafts and have the bears on them. The magazine showed little swim suits on them but that was to difficult. Another one I have done is gotten a bucket and put baked cake into it iced the top and then crumbled yellow cake on it and made a sandbucket cake and then had finding nemo decorations. Of course you could always do the dirt cake...pudding and oreo cookie crumbs and then gummy worms sticking out of the "dirt." Personal favorite. I have made some other cakes but they aren't popping into my head but try family fun web site they had some good stuff. |
