thanks?? New coworker asked me how long I had worked here. I replied, I started here in '96. She replied "Wow, you age well!" Uh...thanks? OK, I know it was a nice complement, but really? I'm not really that old. AND, that wasn't my first nursing job. I had already been doing this 8 or 9 years by then. Wwaahhhhhh! |
Lol I'm 60 and I don't think that is OLD but turned that corner in time one day when the first person that called me OLD .....was my daughter in law.... me , waaaaa, too:( Oh we'll...your as old as you feel.... |
Great compliment. :p I cringe every time someone addresses me as "ma'am". In my mind, I'm still a miss. :D |

Lol...some people truly mean well, but they're lousy at communicating. I think this is one of those cases . |
Oh dear, some things just do not come out right, do they.:) The word old most often sounds wiser, to give respect but the word that drives me crazy is 'elderly' If I live to be a hundred, I don't want to be elderly.;) |

Considering all the long hours, nights weekends and holidays we work, coupled with the bad coffee and lack of bathroom breaks...consider it a huge compliment. ;) |
I call these "back handed compliments". LOL |
dog If you are a nurse, like my daughter is, and all that stress you are under daily, You are admired by me. Who cares how old we are, it is our attitude and heart that is important. Nurses are dear to my heart for all you do and No one better make you feel bad by a comment like that. |
1 Attachment(s) Thanks, everyone! I am very lucky to have gorgeous parents who are in their 70's. I have great genes. My job, smoking and drinking is certainly NOT the reason I am aging fairly well! Here is a "brag" photo of my beautiful family-parents and 2 younger brothers. I give all credit to the parental units! :D:D |
Got to love the great gene pool! A beautiful youthful family. |
