I'm mmeelllttttiinnggg!!! Water leak in the building, more like a water gush... Anyways, they had to turn off the AC to the whole building at least for the next 3 days!! Its only low-70s today and it's 85 in the building already. Tomorrow is going to be high 70s and weds low 80s! We are going to MELT!!! |
Bummer! That doesn't sound like fun |
We had this happen one whole day but we knew a day in advance. Take a personal electric fan to work with you to train just on you all day and a small cooler bag with an ice bag full of ice from home to put on the back of your neck from time to time then return to the fridge, a cloth to moisten and wash your face, neck, arms and leg with a few times during the day and, most of all, bring a sack of ice from the store with you and guard it closely. All your coworkers will be in it once the office ice supply is done - and it will be exhausted early on so everybody will start to want to use your ice! So guard your ice well :D since icy, cold drinks will see you through an 85 degree day with a fan, cold drinks, a cold cloth wash-off a few times a day and the boss letting you go home early! We were let out at 2:30 p.m. and that's the only way we made it. Good luck! |

Well I am a contractor and I'm on my last few weeks here, so as much as I'd love to go home early, Its unpaid for me, and since I don't have another job yet, I need all the hours I can get! So I hope they don't make us go home early! This whole gov shut down thing is nerve wracking too...it could affect us here in ways that make them lay people off! :( |

11am and already 85 in here! People have fans going everywhere. There are a few windows on the street side of the building... but of course the city if replacing the sidewalks right in front of the building, so with the big loud equipment, the windows really can't be opened! ARG!!! Oh well, it's been worse! :) |
Oh, my! I so feel for you. Here's praying you can get through this without melting away! Praying somehow it's going-home time sooner today! Just think - in the hot climates people live in that temp all the time. IDK how in the world they live like that. I hate being sticky and moist. Well, hang in there. I'm here thinking about you and praying it's not so bad! |
Seems to be holding steady at 85! I have a fan on me and drinking cold drinks. Its kind of crazy to work like this for 9 hours! Tomorrow is going to be hotter outside, which means hotter in here! UGH! |
You poor, poor thing! Thinking cold thoughts for you and wish it would make a difference but know it won't. Bleh! |
Celstu, hope things cool off for you soon. Even a snowman melts. (smile) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te7aFC8DTls |
Thanks! The AC won't be fixed for a long time! I guess it's a major deal. 60 feet copper pipe needs to be replaced with a PVC pipe. However, the temp outside dropped a lot, so its much cooler in here now. I have a sweatshirt on today! BBBRRR |
I edited post #12:) I was thinking of saying 'to boss' but no your job is too important. |
OM gosh, it sounds like a big job. |
