Sorry if I led anyone to believe differently...and damn my poor english...*sigh* |
I just went through ALL the posts!!!! Hi all, I just finished all the post since i'm so behind. I have made several changes this past month, Dr. said either you do or you won't be here long. So for me i have no choice. But thats okay because i'm going to do it. Now that we have this great thread and all the suport it should be much easier. I have lost 10 pds. but that does'nt count cause i already had lost it before i seen this. So I'm at 152 thats where i'm going to start. I'm 5'4 and 46 years old. Good luck to every one we all can do it!!!!!! :) :) :) |
Welcome! We are so glad to have you with our group. There is a lot of good information on this thread if you'll just use it. :) If you would like to post your weekly stats on the stat sheet to be sent to each one of us in the group, please PM Jaspers Mom (Glad) and she'll be more than happy to help you. We don't post the stats for everyone to see. I'm glad to hear that you've already lost 10 lbs on your own. ;) Send a post and let us ALL know what you did to lose that. This is called Lifestyle Changes and it IS for a lifetime. It isn't temporary and it's for dieting. It's to get healthier. Would you mind sharing with us what your health problems are? I think it's good for others to know what can happen to them! Keep up the good work and again - welcome. |

Sorry, I am late. The last couple of weeks have been so hectic with all my different house guests..... I get rid of 1 and 2 more show up............... :p I lost 2 more so I am at 161 lb. It has been really hard b/c you know when you have guests you go out to eat alot.... But I have been trying to be good. Anyway I have been walking everyday-Matise loves it. But it would be great if I could add just like 2 more hours to the day to get all that I need to get done in a day........... :p As the days pass it is like I have less and less time and I am more and more tired..... Well one thing I have to look forward to is that at the end of this month my husband and I are going to visit his family, they live in Ecuador. I will get some down time, but little Matise has to stay behind :( He is staying with a friend- I know she will take care of him but I will still be so worried- nobody cares for your little one like you do ya know. And with Matise having been so sick, with his shunt and all it is going to be really hard to leave him. We were going to take him but there is so much bacteria-you know in the water and stuff and it will be SSSOOOOO HHHOOTTT we decided it might be to much for his little system. I mean I am very, very careful when I go there but I still get travelers sickness. The last thing I need is for him to get sick in a another country, so far from his vet and all. Anyway I have written a Matise care manuel so hopefully she and he will be ok, no unforseen events... :) |
Congrats on the weight loss, Kara!! Quote:

I'm very proud of how good Kara has done with all that company and having to eat out so much. Good job, Kara! The walking is very good for you also. As far as eating in a foreign country, I'm sure Kara is already aware of it. I think she mentioned she'd been there before. Tips for Staying Healthy in a Foreign Country Avoid unwashed fruit and vegetables. Avoid swimming in fresh water that could harbor disease. Wash hands frequently. Do not drink the tap water unless you know it is safe. Be aware that ice cubes may be made with tap water. Be cautious about dairy products. A good "travel healthy" medicine kit for traveling in the United States or overseas includes:diarrhea, upset stomach, or heartburn remedies like Pepto-Bismol constipation remedies like MetamucilŽ decongestants/antihistamines motion sickness remedies antibacterial soap like SafeguardŽ skin cream/antibiotic ointment (for cuts and scratches) first aid supplies (bandages, gauze, adhesive tape) sunscreen/suntan lotion insect repellant soothing, non-alcohol-based lotion (for insect bites and sunburn) vitamins thermometer duplicate pair of eyeglasses any prescription medicine that you are taking |
I havent really tryed, I just set my mind to doing what i know i have to do. After the Dr. chewed me up an down i knew she was right. I came home and started drinking water. I cut myself down to two sodas a day and just drink water. I thought if i cut the soda to just two then after awhile i could cut it all the way out. Im working on it. I was a very heavy smoker i just limited myself to one pack a day, and if i ran out i just ran out. Foods, i knew alot of the proper ones because my husband is a diabetic. He is on 4 shots a day plus meds. BUT THE MAN WONT EAT RIGHT. So be it im going to eat right even if he wont. Then i had another Dr. appt. and the nurse said "well Mary you lost 10 pds" I didnt think i had lost anything. I didnt feel like i had, but now im like WOOHOO im on a roll so i need to keep doing what im doing. I guess the menopause/hot flashes is really what made me strong. I thought for sure if i did all this they would stop or at least let up. But they havent. Untill thay get my b/p under control and i stop smoking Dr. wont give me anything but this like sleeping pill. All it does is knock me out. Which is good cause i hadnt had much sleep in months. Now I think my body is used to it and im starting to wake up more at night. I dont know, all i can say is im giving it my best and i feel like mother nature is not workin with me ha . Oh i have pm'd Jaspermom. Shes one awesome lady!!!!!!!!! Everyone seems to be doing pretty good also. SO KEEP UP THE WORK EVERYONE! :) :) :) :) |

Sketters mom...I have a sick husband who won't eat right also - I'm subjected everyday to him eating all sorts of good stuff - what I do is have my salad and Lean Cuisine and leave the room when he eats - it really helps resist temptation if you don't smell the food.....He used to care how he looked and felt.... but since becoming ill - I guess food is one of the few joys left.....I take some of the blame because I do ALL the shopping but I just can't say no to him when he askes me to get him Chips or Nuts....I try the Baked Chips and he just won't eat them :( GOOD LUCK ! |
Well hooray on your weight loss! That\'s GREAT! Quote:
