I think I wrote in one of my messages what consists of my normal eating habits. It's very limited. Just since the 1st of October is when I cut out the white flour products, white bread, white rice, white potatoes, & pasta!*! I can eat sweet potatoes! Thank God I like them!*! |

hahaha Michelle !!! I'm with you - I was trying to get rid of all the tempting stuff yesterday and almost made myself sick! lol - now...only some bananna cake left & when that's gone and I'm ready to roll ! I brought it home for my husband but WHY Am I the only one eating it ? :D I guess this means no more marshmellows for Breakfast :( |
Any suggestions on a good treadmill????? My search is on!!! I am sooooo ready to lose this extra weight. I am sure you know this already , but if you don't....the three best fruits in the world for antioxidants are Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries!!!!!! Of course, I love banana's and pineapples. I will make frurits a big part of my new healthy way of eating. Well, as soon as some of my swelling goes down, I'll take some before and afters of my mini lift ( a little tightening in the jowl and chin area.....and a tiny bit in the cheek area) Oh I almost forgot.....does anyone take fish oil? My Doctor thinks it is great for our bodies...inside and out!!!!! Joy |
I would love to join in this wonderful group too! I have a thyroid condition that attributed to weight gain of about 45 lbs in a very short time period. Since that time...a few years ago, I have maintained my weight, but have had a hard time losing any! I am very interested in this lifestyle change, not only for me, but for my 3 children. None of them have a weight problem, but I want them to grow up knowing healthy ways of eating so that they dont have the same issues I have had. My stats are 5 feet tall 170 lbs goal 125 lbs I have an elypitcal machine...does anyone know if that is a good form of excercise or does it make more sense to look into a treadmill? My vote is for once a week check in. Jen |

I have to watch which fruits I eat as I am a diabetic. I just take the medication my doctors prescribe plus Vitamin C, E, GNC Solo Caps & MSM/Glucosamine (arthritis in my knees & hands). Good luck in 2006! |

Just remember to drink lots of water so you can flush all that junk out of your system. |

i just got it about a month before Christmas and I have been using treadmills in rehab for months now so i knew what to look for ,hope this helps you out>smiles Deb |
I guess when you have so many serious things go wrong with you, one after the other, it tends to make you push on & to work even harder. You'd be surprised how much pain you can work through. Glad to see you with the group. Let's see for breakfast I had my GNC chocolate Protein drink with extra vanilla soy milk. It's from GNC & called Amplify (dietary supplement). And, I had 1/2 cup of cereal called "Hi-Lo" made by Nutritious Living. If I don't eat that, then I'll eat Atkins cereal. Remember to read the label to see what the SERVING SIZE is and stick to that even if you have to measure it out. For lunch I'll have 2 egg beaters, 1 piece of Ezekiel bread (w/raisins) & slight butter on it. This bread must be toasted - can't really eat a sandwich with it as it's way too chewy. I'll also have another protein drink. For supper we're having pork dredged in egg beaters and then rolled in corn flake crumbs & baked in oven. We HAVE to eat black eyed peas tonight for good luck in the coming year. Guess we'll do some stir-fry - that's pretty low in calories. I've been eating a lot of that lately. Hope this gives some of you some ideas. I've already walked a mile after breakfast. Will do another mile after lunch and another after supper. BUT, we're home all the time - we're retired! I have to go give my babies some loving! My husband is giving me looks as I've been on here all morning. |

Also wanted to say that I'm in too! I had a baby in May & need to get rid of that baby weight! I need to lose 25lbs to be back where I was. I plan on doing my Gazelle work-out 5 days a week & maybe walking a couple days when the weather gets nicer. Man, I can already hear the zipper of my pre-baby pants going up!! LOL!! I can't wait! |
Hi All... My wife and I both did a 13 week plan through our local hospital from Sept till into Dec...it was 500 calories a day - more if needed and at least 64 ounces of water a day and 300 physical activity calories had to be burned....it was easy at first cuz it was new...but as time wore on I cheated more and more...but we still lost over 70 lbs between us....we had the option of continuing in a mainteance class or stopping....well with the holidays and all we stopped and tried to be good thru the holidays...my wife did good I on the other hand gained back 5...its those damn Christmas sugar cookies...I love em.... Anyway...my point is remember you have to drink water...take vitamins to make up the difference for what your body needs and get exercise if possible... I will have to look for the site I used to measure Physical activity calories... Tomorrow is Jan 2 and I am going to go back on the plan with one ammendment...I will have like a healthy choice or weight watcher meal for dinner....otherwise it will be shakes and bars the rest of the day with my water...I am going to lose the 5 I put on plus another 15 hopefully before we go to Florida on Feb 9.... Good luck to us all...it is about taking it off then changing your lifestyle to stay there..... |
I wish you all success!! You can do it!! I have lost 152 pounds...went from a 3x to a size 6/8 |

Pat, to answer your question about excercise, I don't at this time have a regular schedule mostly because I have bad knees but I will have to say they are better since I have lost some weight so maybe I can get started. I ride horses on a regular basis, but my doctor said I needed the excercise instead of my horse.lol But I am not a complete couch potato. The weight watcher's diet is what I have been trying to do although I am not going to the meetings. It is a great diet or life change because you can eat pretty much what you want as long as you count it in your daily talley. You soon learn that it is better to eat something more filling than a piece of cake. I am a life time member and can go to meetings free as long as I am within 2 pounds of my goal which I am not right now. |

Jenny Craig 3 Attachment(s) Hey All, Just to begin...I am not a Jenny Craig consultant. :) Okay, now that I got that out of the way, let me say that I'm on Jenny Craig (well not since Thanksgiving cuz I've been pigging out!!!!) and I lost over 30lbs. I love it. Let me say that it's NOT for everyone. I like it because: They tell you EXACTLY what to eat (no point counting), you don't have to cook (I hate to cook), it's fairly reasonable (I ate out ALL the time), the food is pretty good, the desserts are GREAT, the sign up fee is cheap (sometimes 20lbs for 20 bucks!), you get weighed in every week, you eat six times a day, some foods are unlimited! Now, some of the reasons I love it may be reasons why you don't...like if you have to cook for a family. I'm single and for me it's great. When you lose the weight, you know exactly how to eat even when you're not eating Jenny food anymore because we all know that it's not a 'diet' it's a 'life change' :p . If anyone wants to know anymore, let me know. I'm going to attach my pics! At my highest I was 187, I got down to 150, but now up to 155 (those darn holidays!!!) :eyetearss Happy New Year! |

I gained back only 2 lbs over Thanksgiving. For Christmas day, I eliminated my twice a day protein drinks for two days. That way, I was able to eat dessert Christmas night & the next night. Good luck to everyone in 2006! |
