Thought I'd share my day... hahaha Well, Peek's been ??? healthwise but is doing okay now. I woke up on my Bday to a small pile of diarrhea with a ring of bright red blood around it. Who did this? IDK, so went on Dog Watch.
Lol, all 4 had yuckie poos all day long! :(
Then Sapphire starts having gas, strains to poop, then poops out a chunk of hard bone! No more blood since the one, so I'm thinking it was her. She never acted down, and after pooping out the bone (she had to find it in the yard), she's bouncing off the walls all happy and running around. How did I miss this? I'm ready to head off to the vets at a moments notice, but I checked her over thoroughly, gums pink, no bloating, eating/drinking/peeing well, never went off feed, and now just less funky poops, no more blood so I decide to wait it out. She's been fine all along, so no vet trip.
We've had a rat problem in the neighborhood I think due to bad trash hygiene by some people, but not sure, since last December. I have fenced off a smaller portion of the yard to limit the dogs' access to areas I cannot monitor while they're out. I actually kept them all inside till just recently, except for walks. My one neighbor insists on putting food (all kinds) over the fence as treats for my dogs, although I've asked her not to a zillion times. A fence now blocks their access to that area.
And now some in my household have a problem with the additional gate they have to manipulate, but hey, it's for the health and well being of my dogs. I can't believe grown up 30 something year old children can't see the reasoning behind this. So I still have to walk out to make sure the gate is closed, but it's easier than having to run to the vets all the time for stupid, preventable stuff.
Well, anyway, so much for my day. Things are looking better all around, so I'm happy! Yay!
Thanks again for all the Bday wishes... know that you all keep me sane, for the most part, lol! |
