Why?????? I wait all year for summer, trudging through MONTHS of cold/snow, yuck...Just to have it come and go SO quickly! :( Its already August!!! Its kind of crazy to me how quickly it went by this year again! :( :thumbdown |
DH & I went to visit friends who were gifted a seasonal camp up here when his grandmother passed last month. Its in a lake area that I LOVE and always want to be at! Well there are 2 camps that are for sale in the same campground and DH & I went to look at this weekend to possibly buy one ourselves. I'm so excited, and I'm so sad that there are only 2 months left of the season! where the heck did summer go again? Anyways, if it works out we could be IN there by this weekend if not next. Its an easy cash sale and title signing thing that will take no time at all. This will give us a place to go and have friends/family up on weekends from May - Oct. I really want to get a camp there finally so I can spend all summer at the lake enjoying life! :) |

Here in Phoenix...I'm feeling the opposite, lol...cannot WAIT for summer to be over. Come on down and visit me and I'll getcha nice and sick of summer :D. High is 107 today, and that's not even bad! I envy you heading into fall...fall is the season I miss the most of the 4 seasons. |
Today feels like fall. This is not helping my tomatoes to ripen |

There is a $1500 discrepancy between what we will pay and what they want for it. We'll see how this plays out. :) I think they will give in because they don't come up at all anymore and to move things out of there for $1500 would be more a hassle for them than just accepting $15500. I could be wrong though. Keeping my fingers crossed! |
Aside from one really terrible heatwave this summer, summer in Roseville has been rather mild this year. Though August is usually the hottest month- so far not bad. Still, haven't really enjoyed the summer that much this year and I'm ready for fall! It's almost football season!! And then Halloween!! I love autumn :D |
Oh and btw, good luck on your purchase- a campground would be so nice to have! We love RV camping here and a campsite would be so useful. I hope your seller comes down. $1500 isn't unreasonable at all! |

Well they are asking $21K... WAY too high. She went to $17k off the bat. DH offered her $15,500, and she said she won't go lower than $16500. Says shes waiting for another call and offer tonight. So we'll see. |
I'm like Ann. I suffer through all summer to get to Fall and best of all - WINTER. We don't have to shovel snow or hole up for a long time here in Texas with severely cold winters with iced-over roads, businesses closed due to freezing weather and downed power lines, etc., but our summers are brutal at times. Still, we have our A-C everywhere so we just stay in the cool houses and cars and buildings until it's naturally cool outside again. But I'm counting down for Labor Day - that's the day I live for as it puts period officially to summer. It's still hot here then but at least cooler weather is beginning and hope returns! :) And then wonderful Fall, all the Holidays, cozy nights by the fire and occas. even some snow if we're lucky. I live for Fall and Winter. |
I really think I'd be ok if I never saw snow anywhere but on TV ever again! I HATE WINTER. I really do! I want to wear tank tops and flip flops year round! I want to be tan. I want the sun to sink into my skin every single day! I love summer! |

I love the heat! 90s don't bother me too much. I did a road race on 4th of July in 94 degrees with 90% humidity! LOL We are crazy up here... hearty New Englanders. However, 100s might be pushing it... unless I had a pool! :) Today is 71 and windy! This week won't get out of the 70s. That is below normal for us, we should have August of hot weather and sometimes even Sept can be hot! I HATE closing the pool, it actually makes me depressed. I joke with hubby about putting a dome around the pool so we never need to close it! Or we could heat it all winter too! LOL |

Ya'll really need to move where it's a warm, sunny climate like Florida or Cali. It's very summery in many places in those states but not sooo hot like Texas and AZ. Still, it's hard to beat our winters! |
The ONLY thing I like about winter is that I can put the cute little dresses and sweaters and coats and things on the pups. And I can snuggle up in a warm place and read some of those books on my Kindle. And after bad weather that keeps you shut in it is sooooo nice to be able to venture back outside. Not looking forward to winter at all though. I love Fall. |
Yesterday we struck a VERBAL agreement with the owners of the camp that we were trying to buy. We were SO happy, ready to go up this weekend, sign papers, etc... Less than 1 hour later, the guy calls DH back and tells him that there was another buyer who was interested before us and she offered $500 more than we did, so out of obligation he has to go with her since she was there first. ..... UNLESS, we want to outbid her. What an A$$!!!! He made the agreement. He never should have made an agreement if he was going to let another buyer try to buy it over us. Also, he sounds like hes being all right & morale in making sure the other buyer who was there first has the first option, except he said we could outbid her! WTH! He's not morale, he just wants more money. We told him No. We told him he made the agreement with US and what he did was WRONG. DH & I were/are CRUSHED! We were really looking forward to that camp! It was a waste of our time to go back and forth with the guy all week and secure the funds, just to be told we 'lost' by $500. We are putting an offer on another camp that does not meet our needs but with the cost, we are hoping to do some work right away and have it meet our needs. I hope this guys sale falls through! Talk about selling yourself out and your word out ... for a measily $500. JERK! We really are crushed, this is the 2nd one that we were told Yes, then No. :( Thing is, its super hard to get into this campground. |
I'm really sorry about that. A lot of times when something like that happens something better comes along and you end up being glad it worked out that way. What they did was wrong. We had something like that happen when we were buying a car once. There was a older lady hanging around outside the cubicle where we were about to sign papers for the car, and she waved the saleslady over to her. After we had already struck a deal (no papers signed yet) the saleslady came back in and said that the lady customer was in tears because she wanted the car and offered more than our deal. We weren't going to play a bidding war game with this lady when we had already made a deal. We left with a bad taste in our mouth. And we were told that that car had been on the lot for several months and no one was interested in it before that day. Go figure. My husband found a car he liked better so it turned out ok. |
