Zimmerman a hero

Good for him. I've stopped and helped people at several accident scenes and I do not consider myself a hero...

Any one who helps people in my eyes is a hero :) or animals

It was pretty gutsy thing to do knowing so very many people are out to kill him. Anyone with a gun could have come along and recognized him. I would have been scared to death to show my face knowing the hate so many have for him - people knowing they will be worshipped/memorialized for life if they take his. Getting out where others could see his face was brave as all get out, let alone helping people out of a vehicle that could have begun leaking gas and burning at any time, for all he knew. Any time one puts one's own life at risk to help others, particularly children, qualifies a hero.

I am really anxious to hear if the people he helped, were black.....Here in Houston today, we had a man, verbally berate a female in a gas station....it was all caught on the security cameras. He was carrying an umbrella, but he never swung at her, but you could surmise from hand gesters, he was hollering at her about something. She went to the trunk of her car, got out a 22 cal. rifle. The man walked toward her and she fired a warning shot into the ground at his feet. He then lunged at her, and slapped the krapp out of her. She then shot him 4-5 times, killing him. She stood over him, documented the death on her cell phone camera, got in her car, and drove off. I am listening to see if there is uproar over "stand your ground" in THIS case.....NOT that it makes one iota of difference, but both of these people were black.

You are right...it shouldn't make any difference.

There is a question of whether this even happened or was set up to help redeem him in the public's eye. The family won't speak publicly now, hmmmmmm

There are 911 tapes AND EYEWITNESS' to it all, its in the police report....

If it was a set up it would have been black people but either way to much proof that it was real. Sometimes God gives good people a chance to shine so the world can see there true character.

I find it interesting that this hardly got any coverage by the media.

This is absolutely crazy!!! Surely, no one actually believ.....never mind.....I am absolutely certain there are millions of people out there that would believe this is all set up by some family, who would risk their lives to roll their car upside down,(or maybe a towing service was also involved and a tow truck turned the car upside down and positioned the family back inside the car), then the police and 911 all got involved, then Zimmerman emerged from a secret hidden bush, to "help" this family!....someone forgot to bring the tv news crew or even a camera to document "the set up".....Give me a break!!! Lets TRY to keep a modicum of reality around this entire thing! Remember!!! AGENDAS!!!!!! Everything this man does, for the rest of his life, is going to be distorted, miligned, misinterpreted and misrepresented! He is NEVER going to be able to do anything and have it taken at face value!

Good. Maybe this will make other people will think twice before they choose to put themselves in dangerous situations. Maybe they will think twice about trying to police their neighborhoods and stalk teenagers.

We have a neigthborhood watch program.....just like what Zimmerman was "hired" by, to do exactly what he was doing, patroling the neighborhood.....I hope when the person who has been "HIRED" or "APPOINTED" by the HOA, to patrol this subdivision, is trusted to watch our property, sees some 6 foot tall shadow, lurking around my home, dressed all in black, with a hoodie covering his head, I hope it is not at THAT time that he forgets what he has been trusted to do, and choose to look the other way and leave. Even tho it is impossible to see that the 6 foot tall, dressed all in black shadow, is actually just a little boy, of unknown color because it is night time..... I hope he does not take his eyes off this person, until the police can get here... I heard today the family that Zimmerman helped in the overturned car, had planned to publically thank him, but then, probably, wisely, decided to distance from him, as this person who has been tried and found not guilty, is now toxic to a large number of the population. That juror that came out, made the comment she felt distraught over the death, and that she felt so bad for Trayvons mother, for the death of her son...."no mother should have to suffer that pain".......but I guess it would have been fine for Zimmermans mother to suffer that same pain, if HE would have ended up the dead one, on the bottom of the pile, getting the krapp beaten out of him.....that would have been perfectly OK....just WHY, I can not for the life of me fathom some peoples sense of reasoning, but that is what they actually think.....go figure!

I guess I have a different mentality. If he had listened to the 911 operator to not pursue the boy, neither of them would have had the "krapp" beaten out of him. These two men/boys could have gone on with their lives and we wouldn't be discussing this. It is one thing to patrol, but it is another to pursue a person and take the law into your own hands.
