we have been in Rye Patch NV for a while now visisting with our grandparents and we are leaving to go home on the 25th. I cant wait to see my parents and Kudos, i miss them so much!! So far since ive been here, ive seen 2 rattlesnakes and 1 kingsnake. Ive also seen many deer, antelope, cows and many different bird species. But today was a pretty sad day, in the satelite dish there is a bird nest with 4 baby birds well there used to be 5 but the smallest one fell or got pushed out by the otheres since hes the smallest and this was yesterday, well we tried our best but i guess the fall was to much for his little body and he died this morning around 9:00. Poor little guy, i feel so bad but its the wild so things happen like that. But then something else happened today, that is great and exciting. Well there's a momma bird on our porch and i checked on her 2 days ago and she has 5 eggs. And i checked on her this morning and 2 of the eggs hatched and there was 2 little naked baby birds. Oh also there finches, just so cute and so tiny. I have had fun here but its time for my sisters and i to go home. I miss you all!!:):)

Oh and my baby cousins are turning 2 in JUly and were celebrating there birthday!! My lil cousins are growing up i cant believe there almost 2 years old it feels like not to long ago they were little tiny babies who couldnt climb out of there crib. But now they can and being like little monsters like how i was when i was there age my mom says!!LOL:):):p

This is the best post I've read in a very long time! Through the eyes of a young lady, your description made me smile from ear to ear! Thank you for sharing your experiences! I think many of us have probably tried to save a bird, its very difficult and I really don't know anytime or anyone who was successful...funny how no matter what you will always keep trying...that's the compassion in your heart, don't ever lose that compassion....for birds or people...

Very happy your having a good time and look forward to more stories from you soon, you are a refreshing little breath of air!

Thank you Lynzy and yah ive tried 3 times already in my lifetime to save baby birds.:) But none have lived, i just feel so bad for them, its so sad and i cant resist helping them, i just love animals.:) <3

I wholeheartedly agree, I was smiling by the time I finished reading your posts I Wuv Yorkies! I'm so glad you're enjoying your holiday. It's nice to read your description of the wildlife you encountered. We don't have snakes here in Ireland, thank goodness!

Yah i kinda like snakes, my grandpa kills rattlesnakes but lets all the other species of snakes go. Oh and my grandpa and i were going to eat the rattlesnake, but my grandma said she wasnt going to cook it!!:) LOL I have missed everyone so much, and its great to hear from everyone!!:p

Yes perhaps you could dry out the dead rattler and maybe package it up pretty for her and send??? lol

Yah i could do that, the rattler has i think 8-9 rattles its an old snake!!:)

The only good snake is a dead one!! Haha!! I can't stand the creepy things!

Hahaha...me either, one time I was in the garden and felt something on my leg, though it was a vine and it was a garden snake (the only kind we have here, and even they are rare) I passed right out!
