I got a yorkie calender, a brew station and money from my Mom, diamond earrings from the boys and my most precious present, my hubby got me a past, present, future diamond ring and the most precious letter I have ever recieved in all the years we have been married. He wrote one for each of the boys too. Even my 20 year old son was crying. Our Christmas was supposed to be very small this year. But he said he had always wanted to get me one and was afraid that he was running out of time. Needles to say he put it on my finger and it ain't coming off. Sorry that you had such a crappy Christmas. |
I had three houses to open presents at: My boyfriends dads, his moms, and my aunts house(she's more like my mom)I should just say ahead of time, I'm obessed with frogs so I got a lot of frog items. At my aunts house: I got perfume(body by Victoria, My all time favorite!!!!; sweaters, scarves, games (for my boyfriend and I), and a cute little purse. At his dads house: I got a stuffed frog (is really a dog toy but I won't let tigger touch it), chocolates, a small plastic/rubber frog, and lots of other small items. oh just remembered I got a froggie night shirt! At his moms house (his aunt and grandma and grandpa even got me stuff): I got another stuffed frog (not a dog toy) , frog shower curtains, a bunch of jewlery (earrings, a necklace, and a froggie ring.) a Lip gloss kit from his younger sister, Perfume from his aunt, and egg stractor, carribean nightshirt and a silver necklace from his grandma and grandpa, a cook book, and lots of other things. My boyfriend got me Body by Victoria as well. so needless to say I've got enough Perfume for the next year or so (probably longer) Tigger got: a toy from my aunt and a toy from myself, a stocking of peanut butter mailmen and cats, and a sweater. Plus he gets to take home all of our old chihuahua's toys (he's no longer with us) and my brothers beagle doesn't play with them. |
My silly daughter talked my sillier husband into getting me an iPod - and I do mean silly and sillier because I NEVER listen to music, only talk radio!!! They said that I could use it in the gym - well, I go to the gym with 2 other women and we talk the whole time!!! Needless to say that expensive little item went back to the store today!!! Next year, I'll make some suggestions. But the thing is that I really already got my Christmas gift - an expensive purse last month - but my silly (I mean sillier) husband thinks that I must have something to unwrap on Christmas morning. I really couldn't care less - but to avoid the iPod disaster, I will definitely have to give them some ideas next year. |
Bling bling!! ;) |
On a more serious note, as many of you know, I've been a little sick this past year. It has been hard on my husband and daughter. I was just happy to be having Christmas this year and it turned out to be my best. Even before opening any Christmas presents, I had a peace inside that can't be described by words. Well I got lots of presents and everything that I ordered online came in on time, so everything was fine. This seems to be some kind of miracle to me, because I had NO seizures for Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day! I am so happy. I wasn't sure what my husband was getting me for Christmas this year because I didn't want anything but to be healthy. I'm crying while I'm writing this. This past summer after a seizure I was very swollen and got my rings off except my wedding ring. Well my husband gave me a very small package to open. It was an eternity band with 18 diamonds!! OMG I cried to hard. He said ,"Don't ever worry about us not being together, this is to replace your wedding band. It's for eternity. We are for eternity. I will always love you in sickness and in health." I still can't believe it. The ring of course is beautiful, but the meaning behind it was the most beautiful thing!! I am the most blessed woman in the world to have been with my high school sweetheart for almost 20 years now. Michele |
Oh Michelle - your husband sounds like a DREAM ! That was so touching.... and Merry Christmas !! |

What a beautiful gift! I am so emotional right now that I am crying for you. Sounds like you have a wonderful, loving and supprotive hubby! I am so glad that you felt that inner peace within you, such a beautiful thing! And how romantinc of him to give you that ring. Just beautiful! Well, after an emotional year, my dad actually got a visit from my brother and his daughter! My father has not seen either of them in over 2 years! (Family issues as I am sure many of us have) For , me that was one of my prayers answered. Oneof the best gifts! Just for my Dad to spend time with his son and granddaughter! Then, I too received a phone call from my brother! It was great! 1st time I have talked to him in over a year or so. So a couple of my prayers were answered this Christmas! I guess its a start! But on a lighter note! I think my hubby knew it has been hard for me with all that going on, so he decided to spoil me a bit!! Nothing wrong with that, is there!! Hahah So he got me, from Luigi and Brasco, a new Coach keychain that opens and has a pic of each of the dogs in it!!! That made me laugh and cry!!! He bought me the Coach shoes I have been eyeing for awhile now too! I got a pair of white leather Coach gloves and a Leather Coach purse to match!! And a Coach watch that I loved!!!! And a bunch of Yorkie stuff! A calender, an planner and a frame with all 4 of us in it!!!! He was sooo good to me!!! Definatley cheered me up!!!! And Kristy--I am soo sorry you had a crappy Christmas!!! You can come llive with us and we will spoil you!!!!! Ray's family spoiled me too!!!!! So we will adopt you and make you Christmas next year, extra special!!!! |

In no way did I take that as bragging. Sweetie, its great to post all the wonderful things we get and how much people mean to us in our lives. I would bet everyone on this forum has been through some kind of hard time in their lives too at some point, and to me it would feel much better to tell the world about something spectacular that happened to me if so! Well, I guess since I jumped in on this thread I'll go ahead and post what i got for xmas.... |
I got earrings and some money from my mom. I got an afghan, a yorkie planner, yorkie address book, a yorkie pillow from Melissa yay! Some purple bath towels, bath and body stuff, my favorite perfume "oscar", and of course I got my beautiful portrait that Michele did from Melissa and Judi. That was the best early xmas gift I've ever had! And Kristy- I too got some of those things where you just scratch your head and say "what were they thinking?" One of them was a little bottle of perfume that i had never seen or heard of, STUNK like the dickens and had no label or box  |
I am glad to hear that almost everyone had a great christmas! :p I had a really great one too! My 19 month old son got alot of stuff but me and my fiance spent a pretty good bit on each other too! :D He gave me 500.00 for getting my Chloe and I got money from his mom so I don't have to have any to get her!!! I just get to take her shopping afterwards!!! :grin2: I got gift cards to express and american eagle and walmart! I got victoria secret lotion, a chocolate maker, and a really nice picture frame! I am very pleased with this christmas and now I am just awaiting to go and pick up my new princess! I am ready for Gidget to have a sister!!! |
Hey...I was just thinking about starting the "I'm not nice, I'm gonna complain about my presents" thread, and ya beat me to it. After reading about the nose hair trimmer, I've decided that perhaps I didn't do too bad. My complaint is really regarding exchanging gifts with friends. Now I shop and find something nice.....seems they shop and buy the first thing they see. One gift I received was actually broken when I opened it. She didn't mention it and neither did I....but it was pretty obvious. I'd dang sure NOT give someone something broken. :( Now for the not nice rant... Also I collect snowmen, now I am very particular when it comes to these or any of my holiday decorations. I'd much prefer someone not buy this kind of gift for me, cause chances are....it's not something I would've chosen and really do NOT want to display it. This year ALL I received as gifts from everyone but hubby and dd was....SNOWMEN. Some things I actually do LIKE, but many I don't. I told my husband with the exception of his gifts....ALL of my Christmas gifts will disappear when I pack up my stuff. If anyone can think of a tackful way to say....hmmmm, NO more snowmen presents, I'd appreciate it. I know, I'm mean and they don't have to buy me anything at all...sigh. Hubby and DD did a wonderful job - Dooney&Burke Purse, Robe and lotions from B&BW, some DVDs, and scarves. Guess I should count my blessins' ;) |

I know what you mean. I got my one friend a themed gift - it was a bunch of stuff that would remind us of when we were next door neighbors in our dorm @ college. I got her a new belly button ring - we got ours done together an alumni hoodie that she's been wanting a gift certificate to the pizza place we would go to after our drunken nights out a pink down feathered throw that is reversible - i spilled red wine on her baby blanket - long story LOL but it was pretty much ruined. I never replaced it. Anyway, she got me a DVD. I never watch movies and I have never even heard of this one... :( really PISSES me off. I def put a lot of time and effort (and MONEY) into her gifts and she practically closed her eyes and pointed to a shelf @ Best Buy to get mine. |

[QUOTE=StewiesMom] I def put a lot of time and effort (and MONEY) into her gifts and she practically closed her eyes and pointed QUOTE] Kristy you can be my new best friend ;) We used to hang around a couple that had a party after Christmas. We did the secret santa gift exchange thing....the exception was the item had to be something you received for Christmas that you DIDN'T want. That worked well at the time because that group of friends was different from another group, so if it was a gift from the other group....they'd never know. I'd love to do it now, but I'd have to invite the people whose gift I didn't want....not sure how you'd explain that. LOL. Maybe we need to start a Yorkie Talk gift exchange for those unwanted gifts :D |
