I grew up in Florida. We had tons of blue tail skinks. Killer the cat ate one and was violently ill. It seems they are toxic. The blue tails are rather pretty, but the pink ones gross me out. |
I think I had one of those on my deck!! Ian was on the deck and started barking, hysterically. He was standing on his hind legs, and looking up at the top of the privacy panel. We have curtains over the panel, and I could see the outline of a huge lizard through the curtains. I hit it, through the curtains, and it fell. I could hear it hit our patio. I didn't see it, directly, only the outline. It was probably a foot and a half.:eek::eek: |
When I called my husband at work, this thread was the first thing I thought about! |
LOL! Freaky stuff, huh? I still get skiddish about going to take the lawn mower cover off or uncoil the water hose lol |
When my oldest son was younger, he would catch them. They kind of snap at anything around them. He would get them angry and then put them on his ears. He would hang them off his ears like earrings. I will look to see if I can find a picture somewhere. |

I am not so sure that he's brave as much as impulsive. He now works for a state fish hatchery and he loves it. He loves animals. |
