Paso Fino Does anyone have a Paso Fino or have experience with them? I am going to look at a small herd of retired show horses next week and I was curious if any of my YT family members has experience with them positive or negative. Since my leg injury in 2007 I have not been able to ride or even drive my minis. I am determined to get back in the saddle again and from everything I've read a Paso would be my best choice. Not only that my neighbor/friend just brought one home (from this same herd) and I am in LOVE! |
I think a horse is a great idea. Have not been around the paso's but they say they are supper smooth. And usually not real tall so easier to get on. Keep us posted :) |
Super smooth. Not supper |

Love Paso's. I personally found their temperment to be similar to a Quarter Horse and thier intelligence and love of people to be similar to an Arabian. So sort of the best of both worlds. They are short and generally narrower in body so that may be a plus with your leg issue. They are generally healthy with sturdy feet and strong bone. The first man who taught me about horses told me, "No feet, no horse." So good feet have always been something I've looked for in a horse. Please post an update after you see them and let us know what your thoughts were. Good Luck!! |

My husband is a farrier :D so feet are of utmost importance here. I'll certainly be posting pics if all goes according to plan and I visit the farm on Monday. |
Sorry can not help |
I just had to go Google. I don't know a lot about horses, even though I was given one briefly when I was in my 20s and had a house in the country. I've always loved them and really wish I had done more with that love of them. Those horses are gorgeous..never heard of them before today. |

I have rode the Tennessee Walkers and can say they are smooth. My friend raises them. It does take a little getting use to as they feel like they are going to take off. But they just need to get into there groove. Are you going to ride one on Monday? |
1 Attachment(s) Well, I'm off to look at 4 Paso Fino mares. My #1 choice, sight unseen is shown below. She is a 16 years old, 14 hands, chestnut with no chrome. She has an extensive show history and has earned 398 points in the Paso Fino Pleasure class. I have spent the majority of the past week studying and have learned tons of things about the Paso Fino breed. The most important thing I have learned is that all I have learned is but a drop in a 100 gallon galvanized water tub. Once we get her (which ever one I select) home we will start her training just like she has never ever been touched by human hands using the "natural horsmanship" methods we have learned from the great trainers of today's time. Well, without further ado, there's La Tojana... |

I love natural horsemanship. And love the out come. She looks very kind. Look forward to hearing all about today. And which one you choose. |
Only know thoroughbreds, but she looks like with some grooming she would be a good looking lady! When you get her settled, Cali and I would love to "motor" down to see her! |
