Temporary Re-Home :( I am seeking direction on how to find a temporary home for my friends 2 year old pug, Brooklyn. She is currently living at home while she attends law school, her parents recently went through a divorce and they are trying to sell their house. The mother is demanding that Brooklyn must leave as the house is currently on the market. :thumbdown My friend does not want to permanently rehome her beloved pet but only rehome her until the house sells. I unfortunately cannot take her in but she's needing direction on how to go about finding someone for a temporary rehome? She has contacted the Pug Rescue group and they said they cannot assist for a temporary foster home. Any suggestions? |
You are an angel to offer to help! Has your friend thought of any friends that may still be living at home or now living on their own that could take her pug in? It's just an idea but she might find someone, especially if it's a temporary situation. Heck I would do it if I lived nearby. Good luck and I'll add her to my prayer list!! |

If I were in her position, I'd speak to my Vet and then ask if I could put a notice up in the surgery, with all the why's and wherefore's. I'm so sorry for you all :( Sally x |
Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately she's tried asking friends and family but they cannot due to spouses saying no, allergies or apartment restrictions. :( I posted this thread on a pug group as well in hopes they might be able to assist her. I hope we can find Brooklyn a good temporary home. I didn't think about asking the vet. I'll let her know.. Thanks Sally! :) |

Is she in Austin with you? I'm assuming she's exhausted her friend list. I would put up an announcement on Facebook and ask her friends to share it. There's BOUND to be someone. But also check the groomer on top of the vet as was mentioned above. I'm so sorry to hear about poor Brooklyn. :( How temporary is this? |

What a sad situation. Hopefully she finds someone... Thank you for helping her. |
Are there any other rescues in her area that aren't breed-specific? Maybe she can post some flyers in local vet's offices? |

Mine helped my cousin out with her chihuahua.....Kathy sweetened the deal by paying not only for all food, vet care needed, and she added 100.00/month to the deal for "labor and baby sitting fee". That was all Kathy could possibly afford, but if your friend can pay a little room and board fee, she may have better luck....also, try at the vet office....receptionists, vet tech, etc may try to help her out.... |
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Good News: we found someone in DFW who volunteers at the Pug Rescue group! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I would like to thank you for your suggestions :D |
