What do you think these could be........ 2 Attachment(s) When I took the girls out in the back yard a little while ago, I noticed my 18 month old, Jilli Ann, paying very close attention to something in the grass and I went over to investigate and found these things. They were all together in a tiny pile. I'm wondering if it's some type of animal food or poison. I'm starting to get really worried about this. Any ideas, suggestions? |
Sorry no idea could someone have tossed them into your yard? With the way people are these days it could either be food or poison so scary. I hope you find out. I wonder if you brought it to a pet food store if they could identify it. |
wow not sure. did you try breaking up a piece?? good thing you are on alert and your girls didnt eat any of it. yikes. i hope its nothing someone is putting in your yard on purpose. |
It looks like dog food to me. Scary that someone put that in your yard. Unless a squirrel did it? I'm glad your girls didn't at any. Do any of your close neighbors have dogs that they feed outside? |
Oh wow I would be worried as well. It looks like some kind of animal food. |
Looks like the Iams Small Breed kibble Tibbe used to eat and a bit like the Hill's I/D GI he is on now. Wonder how it got there in your yard in a pile? Glad you found it and got it away from them in case it's poisoned by some weirdo who got in your yard or something. Strange! Keep a watch out in the yard - could be something afoot. |
It looks like kibble that has been vomitted up after it has expanded a bit to me. |
No other dogs have been in my yard, and mine never eat dog food. I called the poison control center and they told me to call the police. I called and reported it to the police and they said to call Animal Control to find out if they have had any reports on animals being poisoned, and to ask where I could have these things analized. I'm waiting for Animal Control to open. They are on lunch. |
Oh, that is scary though maybe it could be from a squirrel's pouch or something. I'm ALWAYS finding rib bones in my yard. I guess the occasional stray neighborhood cat leaves them. They are about the size of BBQ ribs that you get from one of the rib places but they are always dry and white, old looking. I never buy ribs or make them so they have got to be brought into my yard and stray cats do come in the yard - much to Tibbe's ire. I have to police my back yard daily to be cautious and some days I just forget or don't feel like it or it's raining, very cold. I sure hope there isn't a poisoner out there somewhere nearby targeting little dogs in their own yards! I sure hope this isn't poisoned! If so, will you call the police department back and let them know? |
Animal control wants me to bring it down there, so I'm leaving now and will update when I return. |

Great that Animal Control is going to do this. Hoping it is something harmless. |
Wow that is scary. Can't wait for Donna go get home and give us an update. I wonder if it is upchucked kibble from a cat or maybe even a possum or raccoon. |
Just now seeing this. That is super scary. For it to be in a pile, it had to be placed there (by human or by animal). Thinking a squirrel would've dug a little hole and put them in it. Very strange. I'm glad Animal Control is investigating it. Will check back later to see what they say. Oh and I agree with Shelly..might not be from your pups but it looks like expanded vomitted kibble. |
