Centerpiece Ideas?? Ok crafty YT'ers I need help. I am gettin married in Oct. and the table centerpieces are my last big thing I need to figure out. My tables are big enough to fit 10 pp but will only have 5-6 (small wedding of 20-30pp). My colors are Dark purple, black, and possibly hot pink (still toying with this idea). I was thinking of doing the centerpieces more vibrant bright colored to off set the darker colors of my wedding. Other huge hurdle is budget, I am on a very tight budget and would like to keep the centerpiece total under $150 for 5 of them. So lots of flowers is out. What else could I do? Hellllppppp |
Do you like tree breaches... Candles..,and cherry blossoms type flowers? |
You need to join pinterest...asap :) Type in "wedding centerpiece" to start off...you'll be overwhelmed by what's there. But once you start seeing things, you can start making a more specific search! Congratulations! |
For my wedding last March, we spray painted wine bottles with chalkboard spray paint, then had bright colored ribbons tied around them. We wrote the table names on the wine bottles in chalk. People loved it and they use them in their homes still to write messages on them to each other. Dinner menus etc... It was kind of a cool idea that I got online. You could do something other than wine bottles and spray paint them and maybe springs of ostrich feathers dyed purple, or even peacock feathers would be really pretty! I wouldn't rule out flowers either. A bunch of purple calla lilies, or sprigs of purple orchids in glass containers would not cost that much and would be beautiful as well. 1 Attachment(s) Here is a pic of our centerpieces. We used hydrangeas that the florist suggested painting purple with flower paint. They were about $3 a stem, 3 stems would fill in and make quite a statement since they are so big. |
My cousin went to Hobby Lobby, and got 8 large round open shallow bowls.....about 16 inch diameter, about 4 inch deep. She put glass looking rocks that looked like chunks of fractured ice in the bottom....she sprinkled silver glitter sparingly across the clear ice rocks, and then she gently poured water into the bowls....then she floated a single white magnolia flower with a couple of leaves "attached" to the flower to frame it.....I think she paid a couple of dollars for those bowls, couple more for each sack of the crystal chunk rocks, some glitter, and the magnolia flowers we got from my tree....for free! These center pieces turned out so elegant and were so cost effective.... |
all great ideas...i did fish bowls with matching colored rocks and goldfish in them and tied matching ribbon on the opening. they kids love it weather they attended or not mom and dad brought them home a gift. good luck. |
you used real fish? I never seen that before. I have been putting off pintrest cuz it confused me- lol. I can't have real candles and I worried about if fake ones would look too cheesy. The chalk board idea sounds cool too, I've been banned from spray painting things though :p @yorkiemom- have any pictures? I have trouble "envisioning" things which is why Im in this pickle |
yes we did. as far as i remember they did ok in transition and we filled them only 3/4 the way i think if i remember right as this was years ago i got small boxes from the liquor store for transport and then put them aside to pack up for people to take them home. i also just got a small sized envelop of food for each to go home with. it was really inexpensive. |
Oh no, I figured out pintrest- information overload  |

But once you get the handle of how to search, it'll be really easy to start narrowing down :) |
I'm sure others will agree, I'd love to see what you ultimately decide on. Have fun on Pinterest! :D |
I used to be a wedding planner and I just had a friend with NO BUDGET come to me for help.... Grrr I retired for a reason people haha.... Anyway I went and got various branches from trees placed them in vases with black glass beads to hold them in place, went to the $1 store got the 8 pack of battery powered tea lights and little lanterns they had and hung them with ribbon then got bright pink cherry blossom petals in a bag from David's bridal and hot glued them on in various ends of the branches..... 10 tables they were tall and bold and I might have had $30 into them. |
