Where to sell books online? I'm unpacking from both the flood a couple months ago here as well over a year ago I canceled and brought to the house 3 storage units worth if our family belongs to sort and get rid of... Now I know some say you can bever have too many books...but I stopped counting at just over 1200 and there are a few more boxes! We literally have out grown some, not sure where some came from, or just bought so many over the years, especially from the school's Scholastic fair...not to mention a couple hundred literally are college texts in no longer used editions. Keeping favorites, tried to donate some but the local libraries are either super picky or not taking donations, same with thrift donation stores, but I'm sure we can donate some. I have a ridiculous amount of read once new condition books and think I'd like to sell them, and shamefully some new unread even! Anyone know sites online besides eBay, Amazon where I can punch in ISBN #'s and see if they'll buy them rather than the companies who just send a box at a time and consider buying them? |
I've never used the site but this may work for you: Cash4Books.net: Sell Books - Sell Used Books Online - Free Shipping |
Have you contacted hospitals and nursing homes? Our VA hospital here loves it when they get donations of books..... |
HalfPrice Books buys books, but you have to take them in. Half.com sells books, etc. You probably have local bookshops where you live who buy and sell used books. I used to have well over 3,000 books but have pared down to 5 bookshelves floor to ceiling full. I used to love to read. |

Just donated a ton of beads and fabrics to the senior center for their fundraising craft sales too.y We also have 3 children's shelters, and I have a ton of kids books I'll try that along with the sites everyone listed. Thanks! |
I can sell to local new and used book stores but I'm being a bit lazy with the hauling of books. I'm finally getting all this done due to 'nesting' thankfully no one can see me right now...I hijacjed the kids' radii flier to transport books from the boxed to the book shelves in everyone's rooms but after running out of shelf space purging has become so necessicary. |
Mostly I give mine to family, neighbors and friends when I cull. I'll just stack them in the living room and call a few people. Never had anyone turn me down yet and they haul them off. But when I do get rid of the rest of my library, what family doesn't want, I'll probably donate to the nursing home my mom was in. |

I have donated some paperbacks recently to the local VA Hospital - my husband is a disable vet and goes there typically once a month - I know they really appreciate getting "new" books there. I believe the USO is in charge and rotates them through the hospitals and probably sends some to our military members who are serving overseas. |
