Me and AT&T Long story... many parts... 1st.).. I drop my Iphone in the toilet. Yuck... it stoped working a little while later so off to At&T I go. 2nd)_ TheNICE man at at&t tells me I could SAVE money with a new family plan:eek: of course he shows me how and I say "OK" I like saving money. Of course this takes me two hours for him to do all the changes :thumbdown:mad: 3rd). My dd goes to Costa Rico and our phones get hacked into. I made a thread about this... horrible night! It could have all been prevented if the at&t rep had listened to me instead of laughing at me.:thumbdown 4th) 100's of dollars of calls to cuba... the inconvenience of getting new sim cards.. at least 6 hours on the phone with service reps and two trips to the store. I was even told at one point it was my fault because something to do with my pass code???? 5th) I did get the fraud reversed.. but now my plan is very confusing on how much I owe... then the truth hits me.. the "new" plan that was to save me money cost "more" I am pissed. 6th) I called at&t... another 2 hours on the phone, another trip to the store where I received NO help.... I was told "I agreed" to the new plan and there was NOTHING anyone could do about it!!! I said "fine"... I will close my family plan.. they said "you will be fined cancellation fees" I said .. I will get a lawyer ( I know.. I was not happy) SOOOOO... I went on Face book, I posted to the At&t site..every place I could think of... Guess who got a $200.00 credit and her old plan back?????:D A little truth on face book...and within hours I had a call from a "social media" rep. |
hahahahaha you go girl!!!! thats awesome and good for you!!! wooo hoo. bunch of crooks. lol |
Wonderful story and I hope you can really get satisfaction from them. They say one thing and then don't do it as they know people so dread the long hours to call back and try for the umteenth time to straighten out the situation. I pray you get some justice from AT&T. I have spent long hours on the phone with those nuts trying to get accounts straight to the point of hitting the phone on the wall out of frustration. At our medical office, the poor Office Manager or I were ALWAYS on the phone with those creatures at AT&T, trying to work out billing errors! I can't wait to drop my landline with them and then my internet service! |
Great job on your persistence and effort! Glad you got it all resolved! :) |
Haha yea I learned to play AT&T like a fiddle because of the old HTC phone we had and having to get it replaced weekly... Those rep's got really sick of hearing my voice haha |
The perks of social media! You've got to "hit 'em where it hurts". Good job! :D |

Social media can be a good tool for customer reviews. I've followed your AT&T ordeal. What a mess! I feel for you as I've had some of my own dealings with AT&T and if I'm being honest, I can't wait for the day we no longer use them for any services. At least you got something back. |

LOL! Good for you getting your old plan back. Just watch out for them changing things completely down the road billing wise, giving large credits, then doubly reversing them and showing you owe twice too much and on and on and on. After over 37 documented hours on the phone holding, explaining, getting cut off, recalling, starting over with a new person re-telling the story, them taking hours to check it all out, Business Managers calling and promising fixes, months of problem billings from them and all over a double billing, even I gave it up. I decided my life was way too short to continue in that he_ _ any longer over less than $130 and I didn't have the oomph left for writing a letter to put all of that down in writing - that was too much like my work! I will pursue a work issue for 3 years and whatever it takes to win but in my private matters with AT&T, they beat me - but I think I won as I didn't have to talk to them ever again about that issue! Just watch them down the road. Can't wait until I NEVER have to get a bill from them ever ever ever again. |
At this point with more Americans using them then not...you would think this crap would get sorted out...I keep waiting for the newest ingenuity to come out with something to surpass all these phone line greeders.... |
Good for you! |
My poor blind sister had bought internet service for me for a year as a present and when time came to put the account in my name, they just billed us both. She tried her best - 18 hours herself on the phone trying to get it all straightened out and when they beat her down and messed both of our bills up even worse 4 months later, I took my turn at them. Many bills with all kinds of odd charges, credits, debits, 37 hours of frustration and beating the receiver on the wall, Zantac and even a tranquilizer, I called it quits, too. That was 3 years ago and I still have it "in" for them for the people there being so disorganized, the institutional built-in dumb wall of frustrations, never getting to speak to the person you spoke to before ever again, their lack of promised callbacks, basic reasoning, logic, accounting skills, lack of moral commitment to doing right and so on. But it was my fault. One of my letters sent to them and the entire world at large as co-addressee's asking for a formal investigation into their double billing and defrauding two women(one of which was blind and with a dying husband) with all of my careful notes, copies of our bills, documented 37 hours of phone calls with times and notes, names, could have brought out the dogs - on them. I could have co-addressed the PUC, FCC, BBB, FTC, Texas Attorney General, Senator Cornyn, my U.S. Reps. etc., and gone on Facebook, Twitter but I had lost my desire to contest for the lousy $130. It was enough. And later I decided maybe it wasn't as much as that maybe(but I know better when I add it all up) when they finally got done charging, debiting, crediting and re-debiting and unknown entries over a year later. They are just the worst when it comes to accounting problems. But really, I'm probably madder at myself for giving in for once in my life than at them when all is said and done. Still, it was the only time I ever did! ;) |
