My husband, the hero! My husband works for the CN Railroad at the docks up in Two Harbors, MN. Today he and a co-worker were out doing something and spied a little white dog running down the tracks. DH saw that there was a collar and tags on the dog and obviously KNEW that the dog shouldn't be there so he started to try to catch him. It took a good fifteen minutes to finally get this scared, tired pup but they did. DH called the number on little "Bandit"'s tag and told the woman who answered who he was, where he was, and that he had her dog. DH said that the woman was instantly crying and hysterical because she was so happy. DH met her a few minutes later and she told him that the dog had gotten out and disappeared 10 days ago and, short of a miracle, they expected never to see him again. DH was SOOOOO happy to have been able to return the dog to his very happy owners! I'm so proud of him, too. I know TOO many people who would have given up after the first attempt when the dog dropped tail and ran like hell! Anyway, I was just so proud that I had to share, I figured that you would all understand and appreciate the story. =) |
Omg! What a sweetheart. That woman must have been so so happy. 10 days! God bless your husband! He's a keeper for sure! :) |
You have a right to be very proud of your husband. He is a true hero to that little baby and his family:) What a heartwarming story. |

You have every right to be proud of your caring husband. Sounds like a keeper:D |
Your dh did a great thing. And so happy the pup is home tonight |
Amazing! I feel so bad for his parents! Just like Bengi... poor baby! And what an amazing thing your DH did! Definitely a keeper! :) I'm so glad that the baby went to him though, even after 15 minutes. Good feels all around! |
You DH rocks! He made there christmas by getting their furkid back. I hear a bell ringing |
Give your hubby a big ole hug from all of us here! That's so awesome! And again...another testament to why a collar with tags is so important (microchipping is, too, but tags make a difference!) |
That is so great!! Your Dh is the best. |
OMG! Thank you for a happy ending story :). And please tell your hubs he is pure AWESOME. |
what a great ending, so glad he kept at it, I know how hard it is to catch a loose dog. And after seeing the threads on the missing dogs and how distraught their owners were it really drives home the point how happy that woman must have been. |
yes.... you dh is a hero in my book too:) |
Hugs to the Hero Husband! Thank you for sharing your Hero Husband's good deed. It is so wonderful to read lost dog stories with happy endings. Please give the Hero a hug from me. |
