QUIZ: My dog's smarter than yours, neener loll! This is a fun & informative quiz! I got 10 out of 15.:p Would be a great learning game to do w/kids too. Dog Intelligence Quiz: Smartest Breeds & How to Make Your Dog Smarter |
Don't tell Max or Teddy, but I guessed incorrectly that cats and horses are smarter than dogs. :p I also thought they have the mentality of a 1 year old, but it is 2 years old. |
lol 11 out of 15. :) I heard somewhere that poodles where the smartest dog. And I should have gone with my gut instinct about the border collie. lol :D |

I was LOLing at the dogs can trick you part. Oh yes they can and DO! If someone other than myself feeds Uni's meals, if someone else wanders into the kitchen around breakfast time, she pretends she hasn't gotten fed and whines at the cabinet where her food is. She's gotten MIL a few times and got a double serving of breakfast. :D |
Poodles used to be considered the smartest breed but in the last few years, it changed to the Border Collie. Both are scary smart! My sister's creme standard poodle, usually kept in full show coat, used to answer the phone with his mouth, lay the receiver on its side and bark and growl into it as I would talk to him until she could get to the phone! And if she was too slow for his liking, he would go get her hand in his muzzle and hurry her into the den all the way to the phone. I saw him do it when I was visiting and she was out of the room when the phone rang. He could open all the doors, front, back, sliding glass and cabinets. He could unlatch the screen doors - the old kind. He could learn to do almost any trick by name after two or three run-throughs. He knew more words than a lot of people! When he got in the bed with them, he would lie full length beside them on his side, his head on a pillow just like they did. He was the most beautiful, amazing dog I've ever known. |
I got 14 out of 15 right! Dont remember which one i got wrong...think it was the one about dogs being smarter than certain animals....think I answered elephant when in fact the answer was horses....lol! Dag! |
oops, we're giving away the answers loll! I also got the poodles are the smartest wrong too. Thought poodles were easier to train & border collies were more obedient.:D Was very impressed that the average dog knows that many words! This totally cracked me up: "People ask me why I have a beagle," says Coren. "Beagles are seven from the bottom in terms of obedience training … (but) I have nine grandchildren, so I needed a dog who's friendly and sociable and relatively unbreakable … it's actually an advantage for me that this dog doesn't remember that that kid over there is the one who pulled his ear an hour ago." |
