| Connie | 11-02-2012 07:41 PM | An idiotic story It all started with a winter storm and hubby heading out of town. He dropped my car off at a service center to get my winter tires put on and told me they'd bring it home when they were done, but that I'd probably have to drive whoever brought it back to the service center. So, 1:00 Brandon calls to say it's done and I asked if he was going to bring it here. He said sure and asked my address, even though they had it on the work order too. I put the dogs in their kennel, got my coat on and waited...and waited. Then decided I may as well shovel the driveway while I'm waiting. Finished that and still no car. Called my daughter, Melissa and complained...she was still working. Tried calling the service center...phone was busy until finally I got through and then no answer, so called hubby. He finally got through to them and called me to say they were so busy and apologized, but he thought it would be soon and told them to be sure to call me when they are coming. By 2:45 still no call, so Missy called me to say she was off work and she'd come get me. I was worried about her driving in these conditions, but she made it here fine. I was trying to call them to tell them I'd be there to get my car and to have it parked with the keys in it as I had my spare keys with me, but once again...busy...busy...busy. We got there and thank goodness Missy waited because I went in and asked for my keys and the guy says, "that was delivered a long time ago." I said, "Where was it delivered to?" He reads off my address and I told him I have been home all day and just came from there and my car is not there. He said, "Really?" Then another customer asked him something and he was ignoring me, so I stuck my head out the door and asked Melissa if she had seen my car at my house when she came to get me. She said, "I don't know." We were both beginning to doubt ourselves by this time. The guy finally goes back to ask the guy that delivered it where it was delivered to and comes back and tells me he took it to 904. I said, "Why would he take it there? My address is right there on the work order." He said that he guessed the guy just thought he was right and the other address was wrong. So, I get back into Melissa's car and she asked me if I got the keys. I didn't even think to ask them, as my car isn't there, so why would my keys be. We headed back to my neighborhood and finally spotted my car parked in the street. I get out and head over to my car and the guy at 904 is shoveling his driveway and says, "Sorry, but I had to move it so I could get my truck in." Good grief...so this guy finds a car in his driveway with the keys in it and just gets in and moves it. LOL I was beginning to think I was on a Candid Camera show or something. How ridiculous....I'm so lucky my car didn't get stolen today. |
