Shark VS Dyson
 
Which one is the better vacuum? I am hearing Shark has tested better than Dyson. Any one have any personal experience with either?

I don't have any experience with the Shark, but I LOVE my Dyson! I've had it almost 2 years, and have had no issues with it :)

I have the Dyson Animal with the ball, it worked great until I got new carpet and I can't push it over the carpet. I called the company and they said you can't adjust that particular model, it's self adusting, so it doesn't work on many of the new carpets. Other Dysons don't have this problem, but if I had known about this when I bought the $500.00 machine, I wouldn't have gotten it! The Dyson is well made, but I think there are now other machines that are just as good and better priced. Don't know anything about the Shark, except someone was raving about the steam cleaner at the store, so she bought the vacumm, it's a cute machine!

I have went through probably 20 sharks in my lifetime.

From handy vacs to steamers...sure they save $ at purchase but over the long run you'll easily spebd 10 times as much.

I have never been entirely impressed with them either.

I prefer the h20 x5 in one steamer the bissle little green upholstery carpet cleaner (pet one is the best) and Dyson even though Oreks are a strong runner up un quality.

There are a ton of manufacturer refurbished Dysons in eBay for hundreds less.

Their suction is really strong I like the light weight slim all floors

I just got my Dyson a couple months ago and can a HUGE difference with everybody's sinus issues in the house... I love that thing.

Make sure you buy from a Dyson authorized refurbisher...otherwise you don't get the 2mail year warrenty (obe year seller, obe year Dyson) and the Dyson limited lifetine warrenty.

The ONLY difference should be its in a plain cardboard box, manual and all original attachments should be included.

MY hub bought me the dyson ball, its the smaller one but i can use this better then any other i have had due to a disablity., I really like it :) hoover is suppose to have a new animal one out as well.

I've had my Dyson for 6 years and I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE IT. I wouldn't have anything else.

I need to invest in a good vacuum :) I have a cheapo and am getting really frustrated with its suction. Hmm... Now just to convince my husband about the price! :p

Get some kirby pamphlets show him all those then after he nearly falls over at a2k vac...let it sink in a bit...then show him Dyson at a fraction of the cost.

me to and if I think about it I have spent more through the years on all the cheap ones I keep buying.

I bought the ball because I liked the way it could make a quick turn around objects, but now regret the purchase. I can use all my accessories with my new Bissell, so it wasn't a complete waste. I went hog wild buy accessories. I thought I'd use the machine forever! :rolleyes:

My FIL actually quit college, a year away from a degree in Pharmacy, to sell these vaccuums with his wife, and that's what they did while having three small children at home. But they all (including DH) RAVE about the Rainbow. The in-laws still have two at home. But why anyone would spend thousands on a vaccuum is beyond me! Especially from a door-to-door salesman! That is probably why it only lasted a couple of years and DH is beyond frugal because he says he grew up poor. But boy, were their carpets clean lol.

I think door to door is a dead market, but my grandmas swire by it from kitchen gadgets, clotges, furniture, vacuums to health and beauty aids.

I think it was because back when so many women were at home with their kids or otherwise they had a real convience in a sales person comming by especially offering in home demos.

My grandma sold tupperware from the 60s to the 90s. She loves anything involving inhome parties.

I think probably 80% of my friends are consultants for businesses with in-home parties, whether they are candles, spices, beauty, even financial advice!

My in-laws did the door-to-door selling in the 80's. Even back then, Rainbows cost around $2000. I'm not sure what they would be today! DH said his mom would use it to clean up the carpets if the kids threw up on them :eek: I still don't think I'd spend thousands though. If I had more thousands to spend, I'd use them on tropical vacations :ip: :cool: :D

Thanks to Connie an Patti for telling me about the Dyson vacum, I got the Dyson 33 as I liked the way it operates, oh my do I love this Dyson.
