Just feel the need to vent...
 

I love the convenience of having a cell phone but really some people just abuse this privilege!!

If I am using a public restroom I do not want to sit in a stall next to you listening to your convo while wondering what does the person speaking to you think of the echo and toilets flushing in the background!!

And just MAYBE if you are calling in to try and save your home from foreclosure you might want to do that in private instead of me listening to you order your lunch or birthday cake or use the bathroom OR my fav tell your kids you are going to beat them to death if they do not shut up!!!

OK finished my vent for the week and at this point I just need a drink :p

Ugh, that bothers me too... I love my phone, but sometimes they just make me so mad. My BF is really bad about being on his phone - but on Twitter. He's always on it! Maybe if I taped the phone to my forward he'd look at me while we're talking.

Not sure taping your phone to your forehead would work but if you do it can you post a pic? ;)

I went to the doctors today and before I got into the elevator I got off the phone with my husband...I don't think anyone cares to hear my convo and I find it annoying as well.

How considerate of you! Glad to know there are some of us out there. When did parents stop teaching their children (and forget themselves) that if you bother someone, you got up and moved. Growing up, that would have been a no-brainer. :/

I know we teach my son that for sure. The worst is going to eat and people have unruly kids!

My BF works in a high end steakhouse where the average bill for 2 people is $150. This is not a family get together place. Numerous times a month he complains about the kids that sometimes come in. The parents tune out their kids at home and so do so at work too. I'm talking about 2 year old wandering to the other side of the restaurant and crawling under the tables, among other stories.

It just flabbergasts me that parents allow their kids out of their sight, let alone behave so poorly.

Oh yeah that's ridiculous! When we go to Ruth Chris our personal fav Isaiah is with Grandma. He would behave but I don't think places like that are for 5 year olds.

What really bothers me is when I'm in the waiting room at the doctor and someone is talking on there cell phone for a long time when there is a sign that says no cell phones.

I text while on the potty...much more polite...joke.

having access to talking on cells and texting all the time has gone way over the top. I have a few friends that can't even take a walk with me without spending most of the time walking and texting, or sitting at the table and texting, and now you can't ask anyone anything on the street or in a store because they are wearing blue tooth sets and just talking into the air. As you can probably tell from my posts I am chatty, so it drives me crazy that people are not available to talk anymore. I used to talk to people on lines at the post office, grocery store, the motor vechicle department in doctors waiting roooms, well no more everyone is on some type of hand held device. This is funny, when I was younger I used to travel via air a lot for work, I used to love airports, and I was a big flirt, I always struck up a conversation with some guy or even women, I would have drinks in between flights etc, I even got a few dates as a result of striking up a conversation. When waiting most people used to look forward to talking with one another because the only other alternative was a book, the pay phone or paperwork. I travel now just once and a while, and dang it's boring, no one talks to anyone anymore, they are either on their cell, their laptop or texting. Frankly I can't figure out how they meet all these people to electronically communicate with since no one talks to each in person any more. I guess I am old, but there are some things I miss from the gold ole days, like LOL getting a free drink from a cute guy in an airport bar:D:D:D

Remember when nextel walkie-talkie phones were new out and everybody & their brother had one? It used to drive me nuts going out to dinner/shopping and having to listen to everyone's conversation, even though the phones offered the option of regular private talk. It seems like so many people are exhibitionists now and deliberately talk (loudly) so that people can overhear them. The same need to air their personal business is equally evident by constant updates on Facebook & Twitter.

Oh gosh, I HATED those nextel phones! My brother wanted one and I thought he was crazy. Why would you want someone to hear your conversation like that? Pass.

Donna, I completely understand. I'll go out to dinner with my girlfriends and they're always texting. Really? If you don't want to go to dinner with me, just say so. I worked on cruise ships so I was traveling a lot too. Europeans are much more likely to not be nose deep in their electronics and thus much more friendly :)

OMG yes, my old boss had one of the first ones and he was a friend (for a while) we would go out with him and his wife for dinner and he would have to call each of his adult sons and other people from the company that he gave the phone to. He was by far the biggest show off I have ever met, he had no need to talk with these people at 9 PM on the weekends but he could just not resist shouting to them so everyone could see and hear he owned a nextel.

On a serious note:

I told my daughter the other day when I was her age if we weren't home people left a message abd we called them back later or talked to them at school.

Cell phones had a bag either it was in the car strictly for an emergency, or you only used it when camping for an emergency.

She called me old and said her call WAS an emergency her friend's boyfriend of a whole 3 months broke up with her...

Lol my grandmother passed in 2007 and she still had the bag cell phone on a phone cord and all, when it would ring and I was driving I would never let her answer because I did not want people to stare.
Now I will admit that when my group of friends are out the girls might text private jokes and comments to each other playing around.
But I do government mortgage foreclosures but my first job is to help you save your home so call me crazy but if somebody was giving me their full undivided attention to help you keep your home to keep a roof over your kids heads you MIGHT go sit in a private quiet room but noooo I get food ordering eating watching TV or my fav the lady using the restroom and grunting in my ear!! Thank goodness I have a mute button is all I have to say :)
