Guess what's going on this morning:( :( It's snowing. It's way to early for this |
Oh, my! We are waiting for our first real cool air coming in later today in North Texas. We had a cool spell earlier but not quite as cool as this one. All next week we are supposed to be in the 70's during the day. But snow!?!?!? I don't know what part of the country you are in but wherever it is, Oct. 25 sounds EARLY. Remember the Halloween snow last year in the Northeast? Is it expected to be very deep or just a dusting? |
Brrrrr-------------please, please keep it there!! |
Ann!! Say it ain't so!! It is supposed to get below freezing here next week, but just overnight. Daytime temps are supposed to be in the 50's. We have had 80 degree weather all week this week. |
We've had bits of snow on and off for a couple of weeks, but starting a few days ago it really came down! The houses and yards and fields are all covered! The forecast looks like it's here to stay. Bring on the Christmas carols, I say :D |
Gosh, it’s finally cool enough here to open a window occasionally. |
It' 77 degrees her in D/FW and our cold/cool front is moving in, clouds are arriving. We're excited! We're going to wait for our walk until it's cooler outside. |
Northwest Iowa and its to early :(. Last year we had a fairly easy winter. Thank goodness it didn't last |
Reminds me of the year I went trick or treating in snow up to my knees. That was in Ohio, probably 15 or16 years ago! Now I feel old :D I'd kill for some snow...I don't think ill ever see it now that I live in tx but i dunno, I have only lived here a year. |

We had snow last Halloween so bad that we lost power for days |
We finally got our cool front in Texas and it's 56 degrees now & quite chilly out. Had some cold wind & rain this afternoon but I'm sure glad it wasn't snow. About Thanksgiving or Christmas time - yes, I'll wish for snow. I remember back in the late '70's - it snowed one year the weekend before Thanksgiving in Dallas and Fort Worth. And then that Christmas Eve snow in 2009! That was pretty deep for us. I think where I live we had 8" - some 13". And then the Superbowl of 2011, snow and ice and 8 - 9 degrees overnight one or two nights within a two week period and other nights just in the low teens. Brrrr. But at least our forays into really cold weather are few and short-lived. I remember that pile of snow they kept showing in Boston from that really bad bad snow they kept having - what was it - 2 - 3? years back - that stayed piled up into the late Spring before it melted! I was shocked to see that - I didn't know cities piled up on their snow from blocks around into giant piles & just left it and it stayed there for months! Sure hope you all warm up soon. It's too soon for bad cold - time enough for that this winter!!! |

Growing up, we ALWAYS had snow on Halloween. I can't remember any childhood Halloween without it. We had to buy costumes large enough to fit over a snow suit! Now, we haven't had a Halloween with snow in probably the last 10 years at least. This year it looks like our snow will still be here for Halloween. I hope the kids bought big costumes this year :D Unfortunately, this is also the year my husband and I decided to dress up to go to a Halloween dance tonight with some friends. Since he grew a beard, he wants us to be Al Borland and Heidi from Tool Time (on Home Improvement!) We already have our costumes together. I am going to be wearing jean shorts and most likely walking home from the dance late tonight, through the snow! |
