I got a job! At Briggs Animal Adoption center!
 

I'm so excited! I can't even explain how excited but I'll try! But to save some of you from a long and boring story I'll make the beginning short and easy. :) I met a lady at Briggs Animal Adoption Center (a rescue organization in my area) about having a cat neutered, they have a special spay and neuter program and she has since offered me a job there! I have no idea what the job will be but exactly what I told her when I met her is exactly what I mean, "I don't care if I'm a 'pooper scooper' or a 'paper filer' just so long as I get to spend some time with the animals!". It's a great place and there are so many wonderful people there to make contacts with. She called this morning to offer me the part time job, thursdays, fridays and saturdays since she knows I'm a college student too. When I went in to sign the paper work to get the cat neutered she mentioned that she has sugar gliders and we just went on and on about them. (I'm looking to get one or two) And ironically enough her daughter breeds them for the petshop I go to called Dog Gone Pets! Which is so crazy bc I've been really worried about where I wanted to get them from and the owner of Dog Gone Pets told me where they get their suggies from but I was a little skeptical and how ironic is it that I meet the mother of the breeder? :D She gave me all her information and gave me complete permission to call/email and harass her and her daughter at anytime with questions bc they LOVE sharing their little babies! hehe :p I'm just so darn happy! See I've always dreaded having to get a job at a mcdonalds, walmart, bank etc bc well.. I'm more of an animal person than a patient human person.. :animal36 And I'm so stoked that this woman has found me a job within days of my meeting her! I just think it's awesome and just HAD to share it! :D

hehe I'm so psyched! :D It's such a great place and it's a 'no kill' shelter.. Thank GOD they have somewhere so wonderful to go to! Their program is amazing! When they take in dogs they put them through a huge training program to potty train them, teach them all sorts of commands, find out how they do with other dogs/cats/children etc. They are all fixed and given all their shots etc and when someone is interested in adopting they have to fill out forms and a representative is sent to their home to see if their living quarters are good enough for their animal! Their devotion in placing their animals in such good homes just really melts my heart! Which is a huge reason why I love this place! They also take animals from other shelters who are on 'death row' and give them another chance at life! And they just had their grand opening for their cat section! They just finished all the final touches and can now take in 100 cats! :)
